new to the forum, need help

im new to the forum, i just bought a 1999 CTD and the center console arm rest is in the up position and wont fold down, Is there a trick or secret latch that i cant find to release it to the down postion??

I've been in quite a few Rams from 94 on up and never knew of a catch for the center console. Run the seats all the way forward and look at the mounting hardware on the bottom sides of the center arm rest to see if there is a catch or are screwed shut or something.

i did look and didnt see anything. gettin frustrated with it..

Make sure there is nothing caught under it so it folds down all the way. May have to shake it a little. I think there is a "tilt" mechanism in it. Mine won't open unless it is almost flat.

not sure I ever heard of it being a problem not folding down. usually it has a problem staying in the upright position Possibly whoever owned it before you tightened the screws so it would no longer swing freely. you might check to see if its screwed on too tight
