The new engine is in.
Hey guys,
I have the new engine in and she runs Great! I was a little surprised that my egts are a little higher then they were with the old engine. I realize that I have gone up a little in turbo size, but still it's a little warmer then I thought it would be. I'm seeing between 650 and 800 (9-11 lbs of boost)at cruising speed 75mph.
That's 2100-2200 rpms. How does that sound to you guys? I was about 100 deg cooler then that with the 62 and stock cam. I'm thinking once the engine breaks in a little it may get a little cooler. I only have 150 miles on it. I did add the Smarty to add some timing but didn't see any apprecatable improvement. My Smarty settings are level 3-Tq man. 1 - rp 1 - timing 3 .
Thanks,
Topper

Hey Elirandolph,
I did. I installed a plate from EEP. Man what a great Piece! Kick myself for not doing it before I put in the engine. It still wasn't a bad job.

What all did you have done to the engine? Pistons? Crank turned? New cam?

Dan,
New pistons, pins and rings.
Complete upper and lower gaskets.
New head from Cummins.
New cam, tappets,110 lb springs and push rods.
Crank was perfect.
We put on a fluid dampener as well.
New turbo.
Oh yea we painted it with Cummins Beige paint!
Thanks again Soulezoo!!!

By the way, I was talking to Josh out at EEP today and he again said that my truck shouldn't need the water pressure relief kit due to the fact my truck doesn't turn over 4K. He did say that it would benefit from drilling a couple holes in my thermostat. So I of course drilled 4 -1/8" holes in it. Well now my truck only hits about 160 deg F cruising at 75 mph. Is this cooler temp going to hurt anything in the summer?
