I'm currently in college, sometime after I graduate I'd love to buy my first diesel. I haven't decided between the Powerstroke or the cummings, I wont be able to buy one for a couple more years anyway (who knows what'll be out by then). But I don't know squat about diesel trucks. Where could I learn about taking care of a diesel truck, if I put 40 plus grand into a truck, I want to make it last. I wont be doing much hauling, maybe just my quad and things here and there, but I want to buy a diesel anyway (power, durability).

You made the point that many will submit to you.
We know that the Cummins will be around. But Ford might be on version 8.5 of the powerjoke. Chevy and the maximun duration is going through a good number of updates themselves.

Next thing, get an 01 model and don't spend 40k.

personally I can't wait until Dodge comes out with their half-ton diesel in 2010. It's perfect for guys like me, who want the durability of a diesel, but won't to do that much hauling.
