New clutch and dont lilke the release point.

I just got my new Luk pro gold installed and she is holding and working great. The only problem is that it releases extreamly high on the pedal. It starts to grab within an inch of the top of the pedal. Has anyone made an adapter to go between the slave cylander and the bell housing? My thought is that this will make the rod extend a little further before engauging the clutch thus making the engaugment point on the pedal a little lower. I was thinking maybe a 1/8" piece of steel would do the trick. What yall think?

Get a stronger clutch because if you go with anything too much more powerful than your setup now it will slip. Sorry to say the pro gold is a waste of $, can't hold much more than around 350 WHP and you should be around 300 now.

I agree with you but the bombing bug is done for a few more years. Only other thing I may add is a set of 181 DVs if they come my way for the right price. There is definatly more upgrades in the future but they wont be done till the body of redo that is four years away. Right now it is just a daily driver that sees a little towing and hauling. Any ideas on the pedal hiegth?

Shorten the rod on the pedal - won't change the engage point but will lower the pedal.

Lengthen the slave rod will run out of travel before release.

The engage\release point is a function of the fulcrum\pivot point which is designed into the diaphragm, pressure plate and clutch cover.

Can be compensated by designing over-travel or under-travel into the clutch pedal arm - in your case, under-travel.

Or, master\slave diameter ratios - use an '02 master with your '95 slave, use the '95 slave with your '04 master.

Can also be done with an arc wrench.

thanks GMCTD, I will have to look into making some sort of adjuster for the pedal linkage. The original clutch went 250k and I liked the release. The new one just isnt to my likeing as I always set my manual linkages an 1" or 2" above the floor board. This clutch just reminds me of a ford!
