New BUCKSTOP Bumpers

First of all.......I want to say the customer service from these guys is great. A few months ago, I spoke with Chris about options and pricing. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the product, what lights/winches fit and what won't. I had not seen the product in person, so I hesitated. I saw they were offering a promotional $95 shipping rate in December and decided to pull the trigger since that would pay for the custom powder coat. I called back and Stephanie took my order. Everything went smooth and she gave me a 4 week estimated delivery date. Since they got a high volume of orders due to that promo, things took a little longer than 4 weeks, but I can expect that....stuff happens.

Here is where the customer service really shows....... I had to call and tell Chris all of the main pieces of the bumpers were damaged in transit. The powder coat was chipped, and rubbed to bare metal in some spots. I know I sounded really irritated and maybe slightly aggressive due to lack of sleep and stress from my work schedule, but Chris defused the whole situation by promising to get a complete whole NEW set to me within a week and a half......how can I argue with that? I was expecting to get the runaround like some of the other bumper vendors, but they came through. The new set arrived in great condition in 7 days! Kudos to the BUCKSTOP team!

I Finally got a chance to install the Baja front and rear bumpers. I had a Milemarker 9500lb winch laying around the shop, so i put it in the slot. I know that will be a little on the weak side, but I plan to do a Warn 16.5Ti when the pocketbook recovers from this project.

I will be installing the PIAA 525 H-4 dual beam lights in the outer holes and a set of PIAA 520 ATP's in the center pockets. This should give me good coverage in the desert and a nice gold wide angle fog lamp for the foul weather too.

The fit on both bumpers was excellent. The gaps around the body lines were even. The really challenging part was aligning the front bumper with the support brackets for the tow hooks. Once you get all that stuff on there, things really want to stay right where they are.

The rear bumper actually bolts to the stock receiver hitch. This really instills confidence while towing something right at the hitches rated capacity. I was originally going to replace the stocker w/ a class V because I didn't trust it, but for a few bucks more than just the hitch alone, I got a cool rear bumper too!

Now for the pics:

Looks great! I did the same thing to my 01 when I had it. I really like the all white look.

Will do...ordering them now.

I was undecided on the color since gray hammer tone, steel gray, and black hammer tone were included in the standard price. The white cost extra, but I'm happy now.

Thinking about doing the N-Fab steps white and peeling off the black body molding. The black just doesn't look right now.

The bumpers look great! Will look even better with the lights. I would leave the molding and paint it white. My truck doesn't have any moldings. I think it looks a little plain even though my truck is two tone.

Here is the front w/ lights, Daystar winch cable isolator, and jump start plug installed:

Gonna try them out in the desert this week. Going to Death Valley for a week to ride motorcyles.

Hey CrazyCooter,
Thanks for the pics with the lights, looks even better. What does that bad boy weigh? I am wondering if I can install it at home or if I will need a hoist.

I didn't weigh it but my Wife and I installed it with a floor jack. Once it was on the floor jack, I just had to balance it and she guided the jack. An engine hoist would have been easier maybe, but I was to lazy to dig it out.

It does look complete now. I still have to do something for the rear lights. I was thinking of some 4" LED backup lights. Then I wouldn't have to run any extra wiring to the back due to the low current draw.

I head through the deer infested hills early tomorrow morning. I hope not to try it out.
