Hi Everybody,
My name is Spain & I am planning on buying my first diesel Dodge soon. Because of the amount of money I have to spend it'll probably be a first gen. Primarily it'll be for non towing use with the occasional light towing thrown in. I have been a Dodge driver since the mid 80's but always had cars.

It's DIESEL time! Can I realistically get 18 mpg with an unloaded truck driving it to work day to day? 20 miles each way 19 of it on the expressway @ 65 mph. No traffic really. I know. hard to believe. I have a 95 Jeep Cherokee country 2 wd now and I love it but it ain't a truck and the gas mileage is only about 17-18 mpg so why not move up to a diesel truck.

Thanks all & have a great year,
Spain ( Bandito Loco)

Thanks.
I just spotted the Crew cab conversion and think that might be the way I go. I need room for 4 on occasion and a extended cab would work for a short haul but several times a year me and my buddies take a trip to the racetrack to get our motorcycle speed jones out and it would save a lot of money to all travel together. Let the search begin.

Thanks. So far I've found a 92 extended cab for $2500.00 Sounds like a decent powertrain truck. Figured I'd be better off transplanting a body onto a newer frame to have the benefits of modern brakes and such. Just a thought. First I gotta buy the truck & start there.
