Well I am haveing trouble deciding I really like the interior of the Chevy But I have always owned a Dodge but did not like the seats and interior. How Well does the new interior hold up, and should i worry about 2008 problems in the Dodge. I can get both for about 34,000 and the Chevy has a few more bells onit.

all i can say is allison.........my father in law told me a dodge would nickel and dime me to death and hes rt. 7k in 4 months

7k on what? Not stuff that just broke under stock noraml driving conditions.

Obviously people on here are going to favor the Dodge. But, you need to get whatever is comfortable for you. If you like the interior of the chevy more, then get it. After all it is going to be you in the drivers seat most of the time. Also, like it was mentioned before. It has a six speed alison. Also, for performance you will EFI live to custom tailor your tuning to how you want it. If you are going to be lifting the truck at all, I would get the dodge. It is straight axled front and rear VS. independent front on the GM.


All in All it is really whatever is going to make you happy and comfortable. Best of Luck!

Both of them have good things going for them but you kind of have a trade off, the Cummins in the Dodge or the Allison in the Chevy. Both would end up being good trucks to you, it just comes down to which you like more. Make sure you give them both a test drive, if you haven't already.

And as for the two, you need to pick what you want. If you like the Chevy interior better, get it. I honestly can't stand the square fender look GM has fallen in love with. But the Allison will be a good transmission, and the Duramax is a OK motor.

I have driven both chevy d-max and 6.7 dodge with the 6 speed manual and 6 speed auto and for the same price I would have to get the chevy. The interior was way more comfortable in the chevy and it would blow the doors off the dodge. With all the 6.7 probs people are havin the chevy would be the one for me. Plus you already have the 12v if you want to work a truck.

Diesefumes57...why don`t you give a little more info. on what`s done to your truck (if anything), and what broke on it that cost you 7K to fix it.

You can`t expect people to take you seriously , with such little info.

tranny, tq converter 3 pinion seals, ac compressor, hvac blower motor, 2 batteries, 3 door locks, 2 ac hoses, replaced parts for dw, towed home 2 times for puter, lift pump went, blend door, ect

Allison / Schmallison......

The 68RFE will give any 5 or 6 speed Allison a tough run for the money.

I know a couple of guys that tow hard & heavy with the 68RFE's and have had no problems at upwards of 60k miles or more....even with some additional power thrown to'em.

And the SA front end on the Dodges is so bulletproof.

I read way more about front end issues on the Dodge forums,than I ever read on the GM forums.

I beat the crap out of my '01 2500HD (GM IFS) and I never even had to have the **** thing aligned.

If I beat my Dodge like that,I'd be on a rebuilt front end already.

At least $450+ wheel bearings don't fall out of the SA Dodge trucks generally every 60--70k miles like they do on GM 2500 / 3500 HD's (HD = )

Oh.........and you can stuff a 35" tire on an OEM wheel on a Dodge 2500 / 3500 without spending hundreds of dollars to make'em work. Dodge did away with the 16x6.5 pizza cutters in the 2000 model year and went to 16x8's....GM still has way too small of a tire/wheel combo on their trucks.....IMO.
