Thumbs up New '04 CTD for me!!

Hey guys, I just bought an '04 QC 4x4 Laramie CTD and was wondering if the BDTP tuner will work on it? My current truck is an '06, and I didnt know if I needed another tune in the programmer or not.

Thanks for the info!

You will have to uninstall the BDTD from the 2006 but it will work on the 2004. It won't produce as much additional power on the 2004, however, if it's the 305/555 engine.

Oh OK. So the numbers just wont be as high. I have been seeing some of the other '04 owners saying they get much better mileage than the '06s. Is this true? That would be a nice bonus!

I belive the BDTD will only work on 04.5s and up. Is yours a 04.5 or 04? I traded my 06 4x4 for a 2wd 04.5. My 06 averaged 13-14 mpg highyway or town , the 04 is doing 15 in town and 20ish on the highway.

Fantastic! Thats what i have. So I should just expect a little less power per setting? No big deal, I always thought the CTD had plenty.

You may be disappointed. BullyDog never got it right with the 03-04s, but if you have an 04.5 it will be better. Early 04s do enjoy better mileage in general. Find out what you have by looking at the driver side of the valve cover for hp ratings.

You can but you have to find someone who has in a e mailable form or knows how to get it out. I have 2.4.1 on my PC but don't know how to email it out. I'll see if I can figure it out.
