I am looking at a Dodge 4500 and a Sterling 4500. I have bought many light duty and medium duty trucks before. However, they have all been from traditional car/truck dealerships. Easy to look up invoice and street prices. Also, have the rebates and/or special financing rates understood. At a large truck dealer I have no experience in what to ask for or expect. Do they even have rebates, do they sell at invoice, how would I find invoice on the internet?
I am working on these things as we speak, however I thought the members here would shed a little light on what I might realisticlly expect to get off the "MSRP". Do they even call it that. Little help?

Peace,

Rex

It should be the same as any dealer. I would just tell the guy you are looking at all your options before you jump and you want his honest best price on the truck. I would say no matter what you won't be buying it today as you want to compare his prices with many others. Tell them you will be back if his price is the lowest. The nice thing about the Bullets is you can get aluminum rims which look very clean and nice. I think you will find the Sterling dealer to work a better deal with you since the larger truck market is really slow now with the high fuel prices and slow economy.

The two dealers I was talking with would not move on the price. Both Bullets
had cloth interior and some other basic stuff. Not nearly as upgraded as a Dodge can come. Looks like I have made a deal on a Dodge 5500 Laramie 4X4 QC 60CA for the same price as a Bullet. I am getting a better value with the Dodge unit.

Peace,

I would think makeing a deal on a truck would be easy. I know a couple of dealerships in my area that are strong dealers are going bankrupt. The economy is very bad wright now and I would think they would do all they can to make a deal with you. Well good luck with your purchase and post pictures as soon as possible.
