Need your advice on a 99

My Dad has a 99 3500 quad cab drw, new 5spd, 4x4, 4:10s, ranch hand bumpers front and back, with about 110,000 miles. He wants a Chevy and I would like his old truck but I don't really need it. I have an 03 dually and can only drive one at a time but I hate to see a good dodge traded in on a chevy. I figure get the truck, put a nice flat bed on it some gauges and a few power upgrades and make it a daily driver saving my 03 for the weekends. I could get the truck for $10-12. Would want to get around 400-450 hp. Tell me why I should or should not do it. Thanks guys.

110K miles ain't even broke in yet. You can get it to 400hp pretty easy.
