I am probably gonna order a turbo in the next 6 days from ebay, from an authorized dealer, cause Ive got a coupon for over $100 off, that expires at the end of the month, My stock charger sucks and cant clear up my smoke, I am thinking of an Aurora, maybe a 3k or a 4k, i can get the 3 for about $1200 or the 4k for about $1300, I drive my truck 70% unloaded, in the winter pull out 4 place snowmobile trailer all over, and on the very rare occasion, pull a Reall heavy load (goosneck trailer and 11,000# tractor, Im not sure the aurora 4000 will cut that, but if I can get away with it I will, cause once i get a bigger turbo Ill probably add more fuel later on.

Any thoughts? The auroras are closer to my price range, I know they dont have a WG, but if I blow my headgasket ill just slap a new one on and some studs (also a good excuse to port and polish the head while its off haha) Theres is also the Super B turbo but I dont know much about them

Id look into a Super B Single if I were you. The girlfriends truck is running nearly the same set up as you, matter of fact same color too, and I just put my old single on hers sense I went up to the special and it does GREAT on her truck. Youll be gated and spool up is as quick as a stock 35. Still might need studs down the road though...

I was doint research on that turbo last night, and looks like a real nice solid turbo, how much you think it will handle? down the road I might swap my 80HP sticks for some larger ones, and possible swap my comp with an adrenalin.

I couldn't possibly be happier with mine, hits 45 lbs. and spools just like stock, no kidding!

I ran 150's with a comp and tst stack on the single. EGT's were high wot but controlable. Over 50 psi....

would a setup like you had with the 150's and the stacked boxes be too much for that turbo? or will it handle it good? Just trying to figure out the way they are advertised, the Super B says its good up to 425, but the Aurora 3k says its good for (i think) 325-500, so im not sure Just planning for the future, i would like to see maybe 500HP, so im not sure if that turbo will handle that or not, but then again, maybe I cant have 500HP and be able to tow very well...

I have the 3k and love it.Starting to out grow it.Might sell.Im not sure why peaple on this site dont seem to like ats.

Yeah it was a little much with them stacked but it was manageable. Just the comp and 150's no problems.

Dont get me wrong, ATS turbos are good too. Ive seen them come apart where a S300 held up. One customer of mine had a 4k on a p pumped 24v and at 3500 rpm with only little over 1000 miles on the charger. It was ran easy for break in of everything. Thats the 2nd one he had went through.

Right, Im just doing my homework throughly, cause I want to make sure the turbo I get will be more than enough for now and future mods, Want to get one on Ebay cause I have a discount coupon to use...

How about that HTB2 62/14 I linked? It seems like from what I read on here that that is a very popular turbo... Probably be more lag with the 14cm housing, But if I can still tow OK i can live with it for some more top end.

The b2 would be a nice durable turbo.

The Super B is advertised at 425hp but guys are taking them to 500hp regularly. Now at 500hp it will probably get a little warm for you, but it is still do-able

If you plan on 500 then why not get the super b special. My brother has one with mach5's and tows very well. It spools very similar to the 62 he had but flows alot more. If I were to buy new that is what I would get after riding in his truck. Good luck.

Super B Specials arent worth a flip in my opinion. Super B is a good daily turbo, lights and spools nice and quick but the Special is too big and LIGHTS slower than christmas. Absolutely sucks to daily drive one and no one can argue that fact, smokey is an understatement with sticks big enough to light it reasonably quick and doesnt really spool til 1800 rpm. I personally wouldnt advise anybody to get one unless its a weekend warrior or they have sledpulling class limits. The best advice I can give, drive one with a special on it before buying that turbo.
