I haul skid steers on my 28 ft Gooseneck but my skids are 9000 lb Bobcat S300 and a smaller New Holland L555 my trailer has a 21000 lb rating triple axle

I encourage you get a Gooseneck and not a Tag along trailer for equipment hauling because with a Tag along you will need to balance the load so the trailer does not have too much weight on the tongue or too much weight on the tail end which will cause sway....a gooseneck is more forgiving about weight balance

Also get a trailer thats larger then you think you'll need because at some point you may need to transport more equipment on the same trailer rather then making 2 trips

X2 on the gooseneck.
If you don't want to do the 5th wheel thing, make sure you get something rated to carry at least 10-12k.
