need some help with the fuel start sol,

Ok here is the deal my 1995 5.9 dodge will not start if i hold up the sol. it starts and runs.so did some reading and can not find where the wire that gets its power from the starter is????

I have 12V when key is turned and NO power on the one that is to "PULL" up the sol.

Now my problem is I can not find the wire that was to send the power up to the fuel sol.

Pictures would be GREAT!!!!!!!

any help would be great thank's

I believe one of the large fuses in the fuse box on the fender is in the circuit that activates it when the key is in the start position.
IIRC, it's not on a relay, it's just fused.

There should be a red, a black and a white wire.
Black is ground, red is run (?) and white is start(?).

I'm not 100% sure on the red and white, one may be the other, but black is definitely the ground for both.

Mark.

It is the blue wire from the positive pole of the driver batt. It is a fuse link and it corrodes inside and will not carry the amps needed. Cheap to replace. Also check your relay on the firewall. It is at the top of the firewall on the left side of a two relay pack. Also cheap to replace. It is a 70amp relay.

I drew this diagram for another member. The brown wire from the starter relay feeds the starter solenoid and the relay for the fuel shutdown solenoid. With the relay activated, the blue fuse linked wire feeds power to the solenoid pull circuit.

The solenoid hold circuit is fed by fuse #9.

BTW, it doesn't lift the arm if the key is just on, you have to bump the starter to see if it is working properly.

Check the wires at the plug on that relay! I just found the load wires were corroded away about 1/4 from the crimp connector in that plug on mine. Bad news there- Chrysler's only solution is a new engine compartment harness- they do not sell the connector repair kits for that connector any more. Further bad news- I have yet to locate any terminals of any kind to replace those- no electronics store has been able to find me anything for that large a tab.
