I own a 91.5 4x4 5spd 1st gen dually. I got another young one on the way and I need a little more room. Went today and looked at an 03 (12/03 on door sticker) 3500 QC 4x4 6spd truck. Its got 175K miles. Guy tells me that he has had the motor rebuilt due toinjector problems.
Does this sound right? its got me a lil scared of it. The truck has been used. Its got a good dent in the left frnt fender and numerous small pings, and some pretty good scratches in it. The bed is pretty beat up but that aint no big deal as I would put a flatbed on it if I bought it. The truck drove out pretty good. I did notice that the oil pressure at idle was between the black mark above the red line and 40#'s. Is this normal or low? I noticed that the power steering pump looks like it is leaking too. the a/c compressor is off cause it is bad. A good bit of nickel and dime stuff. The truck is priced at 14K$. I might be able to get it a bit cheaper but its a long shot. I am pretty sure that the motor has been built by a reputable diesel mechanic. I have left him a message but he hasn't called me back yet. I like the truck but, there are things that make me cautious of it.

My friend has relocated to Panama. In Calgary, Alberta he has an 03 3500 Quad Cab for sale. 4x4, Laramie, No dings but a little rear wheel well rust starting to show. 6 speed manual, does about 24mpg (US) on the hiway. He just drove it from Calgary to Vegas to LA to Vancouver and back with zero problems. Has a tuner on it and the guage pack. Leather is good - I believe he would let it go for around $14K. 300k kilometers (190k miles) Let me know and send your email if interested and I will get him to reply to you. Long ways away but this truck is reliable
