Need Some Good Hay Hooks

Ok I want some new hay hooks the ones i have work but i dont like the handles. the ones i have see are a D handle with a nice curve at the end and they have a piece of chap leather that covers your fingers if any one could shed some light oh were i could find some good hay hooks nothing chinsy somthing pros would use

I've only ever used gloves and long sleeves...

Never been tall enough to get enough leverage off of hooks...

I've known about them, but never used them. Thinking about it, I did use one for a catfish gaff.

Hope someone can help you find what you're looking for.

Edit: Now you got me thinking. Guess a hook was always impractical for us as we always had to throw the bale while stacking. Not to sound like an idiot, but here goes..... How the heck do you toss a bale using a hook??? Twist release???

Thought I knew too much about haying, but....

The best ones Ive found so far are the flat type steel with the leather guards. for some reason the flats get a better bite than the octagon shaped steel?? Also the short ones are easy to use. Just like the ones in the pic posted by Shovelhead.

dude shuvel head your the man i looked for like two hours today tryin to find them on the net thank you sir


I dont know how to really explain it but i just flik the wrist as iam about to be pulled off the trailer with the bail every now again i do forget to let go make for a good show
