Need response from Full Goerend tranny owners

Long story short, my wife totaled my truck, just bought another 06.... should arrive within next week. My old 06 Mega with fully built tranny shifts really hard from 1-2 and 2-3 like someone is hitting you in the rear....sometimes with light throttle, the rpms actually jump up right before the shift.... can someone with a Goerend tranny explain how theirs shifts. I want to know if I have a problem before I put it in the new truck. Also, how is the II CP3? I finally gave up on the Floor It stage 2 because I just never received the one I ordered months and months ago with my head studs.. I just cancelled it on Friday because I had been promised it was going to be shipped and it never was.... I know he's been busy, but come on... it's been months....
I just ordered the Smarty for my new 06.....now I just have to git rid of the BDTD and get the Silver 62 off the old truck.... I hope it's easier than it was putting that thing on....

tranny

Sounds like my own tranny,I bought one from Goerend about a half year ago.
Mine does also hard shift (clunk)when driving slow with a little pedal, also downshift is rough, and goes with a ,,clunk,,

The stock tranny shifted nicer, and smoother ,I still have the original transmission,I payed for the core, that way i can always convert it back.

As we all know Dave is difficult to get ahold of but e-mail him with all your info and tell him your problems. I am sure he can send you a new valve body that shifts how you like in exchange for yours. I just got a new 3-4 shift valve to make that shift less harsh and he sent it out free to me, install was easy. The valve body change is not too hard either, just a little messy, but anyone can do it. Dave even customized my valve body to allow shifts into and out of overdrive without unlocking converter. I was annoyed with the stock trans pulling trailer thru big hills with the thing downshifting and unlocking and revving up just slipping thru the converter. Now its like a manual, as soon as you downshift it has full engine power without the few seconds waiting for the converter to lock up again. He will even set shift points to whatever speed/rpm you like. He set my friends up to stay in drive as he slows down without downshifting as he delivers trailer frames around town and he likes to "lug" it with rpm's low to save fuel. I am not sure if it saves any fuel for him but I know he can slow to around 25-30 mph and accel back up to 50 or so with it staying in drive. To each his own. But as everyone on here will tell you Dave is a super guy and will do whatever it takes to make it work for you.

As for the II CP3, I have one that is a little hotter than the one they advertise, but I have had no problems, and It really wakes the truck up combined with the injectors. I say you cant go wrong!!
