Ok I made a statement and now I might eat my words

I said that there are more dead people in the world right now than there is living Im counting all dead egyptians and every thing we was just talking at work and some how it came up when I said it about 5 co workers looked @ me as if I was nuts they are 100% sure there are more people living right now then their is dead people.

some how I got it up to $20 Im sure Im right but I always think that

what do you think and how can I prove it ??

Well if you count "Brain Dead",..... judging by most of the folks in Congress right now you could be right.

....... I'd say you're wrong. But I don't know where to find an authoritative resource to confirm it. 6.4 billion living people is the current estimate.

I suspect you are right. However, proving it will be hard. But, think of the wars in the past. Look at the population of 100 years ago. Those people are all dead. I am guessing 3 billion by then. Perhaps right, sir. With one glaring exception. Virii only consume. They do not create their own food sources. At one point, humans did the same thing. They hunted and gathered. However, now we can produce our food in greater numbers than nature does naturally. This, of course, is why we have population centers. People gathered around, and prospered in, areas where food and resources to create food were abundant.

So, think back.... population boom, panic and rhertoric talking about how the world would not be able to feed all the people on the earth. And yet, in much of the world, food is more than abundant. If it weren't, you wouldn't be selective about the food you eat. In other parts of the world, that is not so. Africa comes to mind, but many of the problems associated with feeding Africans is not technological but political and corruption related.

I believe that it will take quite some time before we are unable to keep up food production for human consumption. It may happen, but it might take a threefold (or more) increase in the population long before we need to truly worry about it.

i dont know for sure, but i feel you should be right, if there are 7 billion people now, and the 1 billion in 1800 are dead. people only recently started living into their 70s, so you have all the people living now versus all the people from the past 132,000-400,000 YEARS. how many people were alive and died in the roman era and the ancient egyptians. hell let me know if someone PROVES you wrong, i'll pay half! lets come up with a somewhat simple math formula for it.

I have no way to prove it but I cant emagine that there is any way that there are more people on earth rite now than all of history combined. I mean come on think about it how old is the earth. There have been a lot of people come and go. That is like saying that if every person ever alive but now dead came back to life it wouldent equal what is alive rite now. Of course your rite. No question abought it. If they want proof jest tell them to ask the one and only person or being that knows for sure when they see him.

From all writings we're told of how civilizations were almost annihilated from famine and plague but no figure of how many died from those tragic situations.
Also I don't think anyone can say how many people have died in wars and other tragic occurances such as earthquakes, floods and etc. Who can say how many people have died of natural causes?

I believe you would be better off if you let them prove you wrong. I don't believe the 5 co workers can come up with a proven fact that more people are living now that there are dead ones. Throw the monkey on their backs.
