Need parts

I need to know where is the best place to get some parts.

I need a fan motor, valve cover gaskets, lift pump, and a breakover spring for VE fuel pump.

This for my dad's 1990 w250.

Thanks guys

get the valve cover gaskets from cummins directly... make sure they are the grey ones not the black ones. for the breakover spring you'll need to talk to your local bosch shop or one of the major perf. shops like PDR or shieds (i think) the fan motor you should be able to find at a local parts store.

The lift pump is available from most parts stores. The best price I've seen is at usdieselparts.com.

A pump shop is the place to get a breakover spring. You may have to travel to get it. Scheid Diesel will ship it for you if you can't find a place local to you.

I've used gaskets from CaseIH as well. Used to be about $3 apiece, now up to $5.50 or so. NAPA, et al, have the same gaskets, or they look the same. I imagine they'd seal just fine. Be sure to get the o-rings for the engine- your normal o-rings dont hold up, or they havent for me.

What O-rings are you talking about?

Get o-rings for the valve cover bolts. I don't know for sure if that's what dpuckett was talking about, but old ones don't hold up well.

Yes, I was referring to the o-rings under the valve cover bolts. If you go to Carquest, NAPA, et al, they normally supply the oring in the package. Case and Cummins dont.

I just replaced my valve cover gaskets. I used NAPA which included the O-rings (why it takes 16" or card board and plastic to hold a single 6"x6" gasket I don't know). The gaskets are the grey ones. Working fine so far. No leaks after hauling around 9,000 lbs of hay about 150 miles. Can't remember what they cost as they have been sitting on the bench for a while.

The weather has been warm here so I got a lot done over the holidays: Cleaned the motor after fixing the VE pump leaks, new valve cover gaskets, replaced the electric window motor on the drivers side - now my wife won't knock the mailbox down with the door anymore .

How much is the 3200 spring from Shieds - or anywhere else for that matter? I already wish I had done that swap while the pump was off .

Most pump shops want $12 to $15 for the governor spring. It sure would have been easier with the pump on the bench.

This is my dad's farm truck. I love it!! He bought back in 1991 as a second owner with very few miles. Today it only has 103,000 miles and its 17 years old. He has a Crewcab D-max for everyday driving, but climbs in the old Dodge for the dirty, heavy, or pulling work on the farm (I think the Dodge is part of the family).
He would like to convert it into a dually and put a nice flatbed on it.

Thanks guys
