Need more low end power!

This might sound crazy, but I can't figure this one out. I have the Xzillaraider Stadard and when I first installed it the power increase was great. I have had it on almost 3 months now without tearing anything up (so far). I have had a governor solenoid transducer glitching up on me which I changed and my shifting issues went away, but it seems like I am losing low end power. I know that there may be some degree or factor of getting use to having increased power, but I run the Xzillaraider in all three levels and sometimes off. I am not feeling much difference between level 2 and 3 like I have had in the beginning. I don't dragrace or pull anything, just a daily driver averaging 900 miles per week. My mileage is about 16.5 hand calculated now and I do use TCW-3 in each tank which I don't think I overdose (1qt. per 30gal.s). I have a low micron fleetguard fuel filter that's about 5000 miles old along with Royal Purple in the diffs done at the same time (don't know if they make much differece there). What could take away low end power? I know that Quadzilla makes excellent boxes, I got mine used with no prior problems from the previous owner. Checked all connections and taps for the Commander, no codes, no smoke in any level. I used to be able to smoke out on a small boosted launch, but only have done this 4 or 5 times. Anybody had a similar situation to this particular scenario? BTW the truck has 75,000 miles on it and I ran some Howes Meaner Kleener 500 miles ago.
Sorry for a long post, but I'm kinda **** about my vehicles.
Thanks
Scott

Hmmm, electronics can go bad but, they don't just slowly take power away or anything like that.

I would check the fuel system, at least that is a good place to start. For giggles you might throw in a cheap filter just to see if you got a couple of loads of dirty fuel and yours is actually clogged up?? Are you running fuel pressure on the COmmander? What about rail pressure? If so do these look normal?

The only other thing I have seen that would be similar to this is if you TC was crapping out?? THis would kill the low end and would not provide enough load on the motor to cause it to ever smoke? Just a thought.

Well, the TC is what I am worried about. The trans is not doing anything funky or getting hot etc. I don't have the connections to run the rail pressure or the fuel pressure for my Commander. I know that I do need these, but with the recent changes to the new Xzillaraider, I was hoping that that upgrade would give me the Rail pressure and fuel pressure functions for my commander, Right?

How can you tell if your TC is going out? Should I adjust the front band?

I used to run TCW-3 in my truck, and it did quiet it down a lot. After awhile though, it did seem to have less power. I ran Howe's through too. I figured it might be carboned up. It had been a couple months since I towed, but the Howe's and the towing didn't help. I finally stopped using TCW-3.

I think that what was happening in my case was not that it was adding carbon deposit to the injectors (or wherever), I think I was adding enough TCW-3 that I was slowly lowering the cetane level. I would add the quart even on short fills, so it would build up.

Well, that's my theory. I don't know if I'm right, but it's something to try. One tank without adding TCW-3 should tell the tale. If you can find B2 or better biodiesel, that will have enough lubricity without adding anything else.

I hope it helps because it could also be the TC going out. A new TC makes one appreciate just how bad the stock TCs are, but it's a lot nicer if you have planned and saved for it.

I'd start with the fuel system, a new filter is a cheap test just in case you did get some bad fuel and the filter is prematurely plugged up. Also, get some cetane boost and see if that's the problem. LSD was somewhere around 50 on average, ULSD is somewhere around 40 on average?? Saw those numbers somewhere, can't remember where but basically the article talked about the ULSD being lower with regard to cetane. Could be your lift pump as well. I have a friend with an 04 who started having power issues, similar low end power complaint, then pretty soon it was across the board, the pump finally went. He was right at 70K, and experienced the problem for a good while, several months. Good excuse for a Walbro?? You probably could use the better fuel delivery anyway, even a stock truck needs better fuel delivery in the overall. After all of that, still having the problem, then it might be your tranny in need of adjustment or a build. I'd change the fuel filter and adjust the tranny bands, add some cetane, then see where I was at.

As Quad said, electronics don't go bad over time, they just quit. Try shutting off or disconnecting the STD and see where you are on the bottom end? Of course, you ARE used to the additional power, and it might make you really FEEL the power loss, so it may/may not be a good test, but if your bottom end gets better, then you are back to fuel supply/delivery not being enough for the STD needs, filter or lift pump again in the picture??

I filled up today, no TCW-3 and added Howes Meaner Cleaner. I will put in a new fuel filter and adjust the front band. I seem to have good response with 3rd and 4th, so maybe 1 and 2 are loose. Still no codes. I will run with the Xzillaraider off for this tank and see what happens.
