Well brother first you need to now how much boost you have and then can go from there. I have been pushing 45psi with stock gasket and studs.

You need a boost elbow to get the stock charger up. But it looses efficiency above 35psi, just pumping hot air. Plus it might self destruct at higher levels.
You have got to get gauges!!!!!

should i do an elbow or should i do the needle valve?, what are the advantages and disadvantages to each, and which is a simpler mod for my model truck?

you should just leave it alone, with the jammer stage3 and the quad you should be in the 30-35 psi range already.

The stock waste gate pops off at 20psi or so. It's a relief valve of sorts.
Just get the boost elbow, that's the easiest.

Put some vice grips on the black silicone line and see if it helps performance. Vice grips will prevent air from running down the silicone line and opening the bypass wastegate.

Go down to auto zone and buy a cheap, 16 dollar 100 psi oil pressure gauge and see what you have for boost right now. The black ones are 20 and the white ones are 16 complete with nylon tubing and brass compression fittings. If you can't afford that, you cant afford 6 gallons of diesel.

you dont need more boost unless you have EGT issues...but more boost doesnt necessarily mean more air. chances are you'll be successful in grabbing more air by increasing the amount of boost. but since you convinced yourself you dont need gauges before fuel you have no idea whats going on with your EGTs and have no means of knowing if you need more air.

get gauges.

i know i really need gagues, but +$200 doesnt seem resonable to monitor stuff but it is cheaper than having to buy a new engine, i dont drive it too rough cause im worried about frying things but i want to drop my egt's cause im almost positive im right up at 1300 degrees or so

Until you have gauges there is no way you'll know your EGT's.
Personally running a 24v w/ a chip without a fuel pressure gauges is pure recklessness.

Get the Boost elbow from BD performance.
Its adjustable,
when you get it make sure the adjustment screw is all the way in and install it on the turbo.

It takes less than 5 minutes to install the elbow.
I'd recommend waiting for the truck to cool off first.

Spoken like a person that doesn't understand just how expensive being cheap can sometimes be.
