Need help from the VE pump gurus!!!
Hello everyone I got some bad news on my IP. It had gone south on me. I'm told the cam and the drive shaft in the pump is bad. To fix the IP with these parts new is $2500.00! I said no freaking way! I'm told they can fix it without replacing these parts, but the cam and drive will just have some wear.
Comments suggestions please!
What causes these parts to wear? I was told once it is running to always put 2 cycle oil in the fuel. Is there something better than 2 cycle oil? I have ran 10 weight oil before in the fuel.
Thanks

You can get a totally rebuilt pump with all new seals from places online for $900-$1100
I dont' doubt the parts themselves cost alot to fix, better off finding a pump that has good hard parts in it, and just re seal it.
Basicly what the rebuilt ones online are.

I told the shop what you stated when they called me with the news. If I understood them it's going to be rebuilt with the exception of these two parts.
I thought about buying one online....however I don't have the time right now....as I don't work in the winter, to do the work my self. If I buy one online It's still the same price after I pay for installation.
Thanks
