I am trying to install an 02 5.9L 24v HO into my 98 5.9L 24v dodge. I wanted to know what is required to install with the engine as far as computers and harnesses. I have the engine computer and the turbo and intake and exhaust manifolds. The 02 does not have a crank position sensor on it or even a ring on the crank to put the cps on it. The old engine required it. What do I do to get this to work. Everyone that I talked to says it won't work. Please help! The 02 engine reads the cam sensor for the timing? Do I need to get the computer for the firewall and the harness.

I just did the 1998.5 to 2001 Engine swap,But mine had a Crank sensor, I just put the 98.5 stuff on mine it was easy BUT your 2002 will be different. Do you have the Injector pump for the HO? I think you would need the Complete engine harness, all the sensors from the HO, ECM, BUT I dont know if you Gauges will work right,, Voltages are all different for that year. I dont know if it will work either,, You will be the test Subject we will learn by. Good Luck

Just wondering how you got around the crank sensor using the 98.5 pcm did u just relocate it and did you have to change the cam gear? I've got an 01 motor in my 2000 and running into some issues thanks
