I have a 2006 Auto. 3500 with a Edge w/Juice. Wondering a few things. 1) What setting should I use when towing a 35' 5th Tow Hauler. 2) What do you guys recommend for suspension upgrade in the rear Air Bags and what kind, Roadmaster Acve suspension or any other suggestions. 3) Should I use tow/Haul mode? Thanks

I always use Level 2 when I tow our 38 ft 5th wheel. I do it because thats what the directions said.I have no idea about the suspension question.

I've got the Firestone bags on my '08 3500 long bed, and I'm pulling a Keystone Energy 26 foot toyhauler/RV (the 2008 FS260 model) off my Class IV hitch. It drives like a dream and either empty or loaded I don't get the kidney jarring bounce anymore. To be honest, it rides better than my '06 2500.

I will recommend that you upgrade the compressor. Its a cheap nylon piston design that will require rebuilds more often if you don't have an air filter for it.

I like the Timbren rubber overloads, they set about an inch above the axle empty and rest on the axle when loaded. Much cheaper setup and easy install. They work well with the 30ft 5er and the pickup camper.

I have the Firestone Airbags with the compressor. Everything works great. But I would not do the compressor again I thought it would be something I would use all the time. Fact is I never use it, for me It was a waste. Tie your airbags together so you have 1 air fitting put 30 psi in and your good.

Another vote for air bags. I took the roadmaster active suspension off my truck because it killed the way the truck rides solo and made the truck wander. I now have air bags and it rides and handles much better. I prefer to plumb the bags separate for improved handling in crosswinds. JMHO.

I don't recommend that idea.

You lose the load balancing ability, plus using only one input means the bags share air so they will compress from body lean.

Do it right from the start and get a decent wireless setup with dual inputs.

Air Lift makes one, but your best bet would be to pick up one of the diesel mags (Diesel Power or Diesel World) and check the ads. I've seen them there by themselves or in a complete kit.

I like the air bags w/o compessor. I have played with the air pressures enough and set the same every time. They fill quick even with the one of the emergency pump that run off the the 12v recepitical in the truck. Seen to many pumps fail when they are needed. If edge say you have any slipage i would maybe run 1. Dodge automatics aren't known for the toughness. Yes i would use tow/haul mode. It changes shift points to keep pressures up.

I have had timbrens for over 2yrs and highly recomend them. Simple to install and last forever. They are used a lot in the delivery truck world (UPS) and others. Mine were $200 for the set (rear). About an hour at the most to install. Google "Timbren" for thier site to find the nearest dealer.

The only time I have seen a problem with having both left and right side air bags together was on Kenworth T-600 with potato boxes that were overloaded.

I would agree with you but I don't the air bags are only supplemental spring support.
