NE1 in the Houston area want to help me do my ball joints ????
Well I took my truck to a guy to have ball joints replaced (upper and lower) and to replace the steering gear. The guy couldn't get the hub bearings assy off and couldn't even get the pitman arm off to do the steering gear. I hurt my back so I cannot do this by myself. I have the parts, if someone in this area wouldn't mind helping out a fellow Cummins owner.
The guy even forgot to reinstall 1 of the 4 hub bearing bolts. I called him and he can't find it. There is no way it fell out driving 12 miles back to my house. I live in the Clearlake/Seabrook area if someone is interested. I could rent the pitman arm puller and the ball joint puller. Also, trying to save money and not have the local Dodge dealer do it, Can't afford that right now but I would be willing to pay someone locally to do it with a rate that is affordable as a backup plan
Thanks

Well I can't help you with the install as I'm near Fort Worth and will be wrestling with a hub in the morning myself, but if you total up your parts and what this guy(who sounds like an idiot) was going to charge, what is the total ? I had ball joints replaced a couple years ago and the total bill was $620, which was about 200 less than the average price many on here said they paid. It was a local tire and wheel shop that did the job,and it included lifetime warranty. Good luck with the job.

Michael Watkins owner/operator of Hot Rod Diesels (hotroddiesels.com) has a shop down near Alvin (SE Houston). He is an excelent guy and would trust him with anything on my truck.
