Is my turbo at its limit?......DV ?'s

I installed some 215's in my truck last week. Before the injectors I was disappointed with my trucks performance, now it runs like I think it should.
I have my stock WH1C set to 35 psi, at WOT there is a light haze out of my exhaust. It seems to me that my turbo is maxed out or close, is this correct? I have my stock 131 DV's and would like to put in 181's or 191's which would be better or are they about the same? A turbo upgrade is in the future, but not until I get a converter and vavlebody. So will DV's give me any more hp or will it just go out the tailpipe?

DV's will get you 'prolly 30-40HP.


Bad side is they will give you smoke (heat) on bottom and probably wont let you clear up as easily (heat also gets high real quick... then stays hot.)


I would suggest a turbo before you start playing.


You can probably put the DV's in there then Tune the pump to the turbo..... if you have the self restraint to do so....

What are your EGT's at presently? that is more of a determining factor when considering adding more fuel. DV's added 3-400 degrees of EGT for me , and alot of power, Bumping my timing brought the EGT's back down to a manageable level.

EGT's are not bad. Empty it takes a 0-100 run to get it to 1200 degrees. I have not pulled one of my trailers yet.

With a load behind it

depending on how heavy it is, your pyro will tell you and u will notice the EGTS climb quicker..

as stated tho DV's give 30-40 horses on average, BUT you must have the air to do so, other than that you are just adding more heat, I ran some 191s for a while with the twins i have (35/s400) and yes they are an increase in power, more so on the lower end, but the smoke was a bit much for me, perhaps due to the fact im runnin a pipe infront of the right rear wheel, I went back to 181s

My conclusion, having run a stock turbo for a while, with 370s and 191s, then twins with 370s and 191's. your DV's will be nice but simply a fun blast from 0-60 till your egts get outta hand. with a stock turbo, BUT.., with an aftermarket turbo, GSK, and proper fuel plate positioning and AFC work wonders. Again you must play with all these settings ad get them where u want them..

and timing helps A WHOLE LOT...

I have been thinking about delivery valves also on my 95,would I be better off getting them brfore injecters or after?Sorry didn't mean to bud in on your thread.....

odin1954 , I don't see anything adding fuel to your truck, the timing really does not add any more fuel , I think a fuel plate, some DV's or a mild injector would be your next move. You have plenty of air right now.

Agreed,

the timing will help you lower your egts, and from what i can see, stock turbo, stock injectors, and probably stock DV's. depending on your plate position, plate choice, AFC, and starwheel positioning, you can see from ur pyro and gauges when u need to update your turbo....
