What is my truck worth?

I just bought a new MegaCab Dually 4x4 6speed,Dealer said my 99 truck(see sig.)is only worth $12,000 to him,I didnt figure they would give anything for it,so I told him I would sell it outright,so nowIam going to put it in the Trader for$21,000,does this sound about right.

It sounds a little high to me... It has a lot done to it, but unfortunatelyu that stuff does not usually ad much to the value. Plus the prospective buyer will see the extra power/lockers and wonder if it was abused. I would expect you to get more like $15-19000, depending on exact condition, milage and the market in your area.

But it would never hurt to put a high price OBO.

Does the 5'er come with for that $?

Sounds a bit high to me, I would expect somewhere around 16, maybe 17K tops.

I'm thinkin if he finds the right guy he might get an extra $2k for the mods... not real likely, but i've seen it happen.

You can sure do better than $12K. $16-18K with the goodies you got. Over $20K and it won't sell.

Your truck books out between 12K & 15K, 15 being in excellent condition. Granted thats before any mods. The problem with mods, as you prob. know is that no one wants to pay for them when buying a used vehicle. You either have to sit on it for a while and hopefully find the right buyer, whos willing to pay for the goodies, or end up taking it in the shorts in the long run. I guess it comes down to how much and how fast you want to sell your truck. Im sure Im not telling you anything you dont allready know.

Hey if you dont need to sell it and if its paid off, keep liability insurance on it and have some fun with it. Either way good luck to you. Been there in this same position many times.

I always figure for every $ i am dumping in aftermarket goods in my truck, it is worth that much less, not more

Probably a fact. I wouldn't have bought my truck off of a dealer lot if it had been altered from stock.

IMO id ask 19,000 and go from there...

I have a 99 with just a edge comp, and new vp44.

If i were to sell her, id be happy for $15k.. i got her at a steal for 12,5 last year.

pretty good shape, some light arizona pinstripes on the paint but everything else great.

The BEST option is to revert it to as stock as possible, and sell the goodies seperately. Not many want a modded truck, because they have no idea of the history and how hard you drove her.

I take it he didn't have to secure financing?

I know with the mods and all, but I can't see paying that much?!

I have an 01.5 with 78K on, anyone want to offer me $21K?

I never would have guessed the first guy would be the one that would pay $21k+ Glad it worked out for you, and why don't things ever work out like that for me?
