My truck is totaled

Last week I had a women pull right out in front of me while I was doing 45 mph. I tried to avoid her, but we hit. I walked away and she had to take a ride in the ambulance. She got a ticket for failure to yield and no proof of insurance. The exterior damage wasn't too bad, but under the truck took a beating. Everything near the front axle was bent or broken.

So I'm looking for a new truck and trying to figure out what I should do. I started looking at 2500 Mega 4x4 5.9 Auto, but now I'm wondering about the 6.7 with 6 speed. What would you guys do? I had mods on my last truck and plan on doing a couple things to the new one so would the 5.9 be the way to go? A dealer told me the new 6 speed is awesome. How much power can these transmissions hold before having them upgraded? Are there any upgrades for it yet? I've found a couple of 06's that have 0% financing, and a bunch of 07's. Is there any reason to get an 07 over an 06 with the 5.9? Sorry for all the questions, but I need yalls input. I didn't think I would be buying another truck for 10 years.

Sorry to hear about your truck!

That happened to me a couple of years ago - I feel your pain....

I'd get a 5.9L with the G56, 4WD of course.

Bummer..

Could get an '06 or '07 with the 5.9 so you can salvage some of the parts off the old truck.

Get an 06' I think the tranny will be nice in the 07's but I wanted one of the last 5.9's (see sig) because I want to upgrade it along the way. And not that the 6.7 isn't good its just got so much EPA,EGR crap on it that it will be more $$$ to add power too.

I would get the new 6.7/6 speed atuo if you can find it on a lot anywhere or if you can wait. If you cant wait I would get the 06 5.9 and swap all your performance stuff over that can be swaped........

Thanks

Thanks for the post guys. I can salvage some things, but I'm not sure what will switch over to the newer 5.9. I'll probably just sale most of it and stay stock for a while. I kind of ate it on my DTT transmission. 2500 dollars worth of parts and insurance only gave me 500. I'm kind of leaning towards an 06 because of the deals they're giving.

Get an 06 5.9. They are all over here... Can't get an 07 with the 6.7 yet?? I have been by the dealer every week just to test drive one. Plus 06 have 0% financing right now. My righthand man just bought an 06...

Shane

Cquestad... You have a pM

Thanks

Insurance is getting the truck

Insurance is getting the truck, but I'll be getting a lot of my upgrades off. I'm leaning towards an 06 if I can find one. I've been on the horn with 7 dealers in my area. Thanks for the advice guys.

I'm Mega Now

I purchased an 06 Mega Cab last night. It's SLT 4x4 Inferno Red and it's pretty. I'm trying to figure out what will still work on my 06 now. I sure do like how it rides and how quit it is. Anyways thanks for yall's help.
