Is it an irregular surge? Does it go away when your using the cruise? If your a manual trans and it goes away on cruise, it's most likely your APPS.

Just went through the same thing, happens at a regular/ steady cruise speed, give or take 1800 - 2000 rpm, but disappears when cruise is engaged. I''m a 6 spd and the cruise is electronic so it's a dead give away when the APPS is taken out of the loop on cruise.

I don't know if the auto's are electronic cruise or vacuum but I'm sure someone will chime in.

Might be time for a Timbo APPS, way cheaper than the dealerstrip.

Also, fill in your truck specs so we know what your driving.

thanks for the reply, yes when cruse control is on it seems to stop. my truck is a 02 cummins 2500 with a automatic trans should i try a new apps sensor

I had the same problems you did and did a ton of investigating and everything pointed to the pump.

But overall, my mileage never fell off, the truck idled just like normal, I had all the power I always had, it just had the surge.

I usually don't use my cruise on a regular basis and one day I did and the surge went away. A little more investigating and a few questions to people and it came down to the APPS.

I don't like to say or have people throw parts at a problem until it disappears but in my mind, it looks like you have a faulty/dieing APPS. You've replaced everything else in the loop anyways.

This is where you get the APPS from. Way cheaper than the dealer. Takes a couple of minutes to setup and your on the way. Incredible customer service also!! http://www.dodgecumminsapps.com/index.html

Well You Guys Were Rite I Changed The Apps And It Never Ran So Good Thanks A Lot Guys
