MY TRUCK HAS A VIN!! but has a weird code
YAY!! so ship date has come and gone and the dodge guys said that she has VIN... but they weren't sure what JB meant ... JB is the code that came up when they checked the status. However when they looked up what JB is defined as, they found out it means "Sent to Body Vendor"... SO... anybody know what THAT means? I am getting sidesteps put on it... does JB mean that it is being sourced out to someone to put them on?
all i do know is she has a VIN she has been shipped and im giddy with excitement

Yesterday I was in the area and swung by Dodge and they said my truck got KZT.... Its sitting in Vera Cruz and will be coming into to Baltimore on the 19th... my gosh right now the past two months have crawled slower than molasses on a tree in a very cold morning...

The only issue I had when ordering was the truck made it to the local rail yard, then sat there for a week, until the yard got off their but to deliver the truck. Being a dually may have been an issue.

thanks so much tony... i shall... hehe... at first i thought i might give him some respit from my constant phone calls and yammering... but now that i know he can give me a rail car number i will start to pester again... of course he told me that it will get on a boat first then come to Baltimore... so considering the distance it will prolly get off the rail soon and then i just wait for her to get dropped off at my local dodge spot...
it would be great if i could do something like that IBM ad where the tags in the boxes "told them" where they were adn that the truck driver was lost...

Glad to help!
This was the 2nd vehicle I ordered....The first was my '97 F150...The salesgirl pretty much told me I could track it. Until she found out they trucked it from Ky to Az; there was no tracking in '97 of the semi's.
Keep us posted!

well i have been dealing with the sales manager and not just my sales guy... i decided i will give them a short respit for now and hassle them some more next week... the thing is they are saying its coming by boat so i dont think it will get a rail car number till it hits baltimore... or does the rail car get assigned even there in Vera Cruz and just carries over once it gets stateside??
the anticipation is killing me though... i tell ya that much

Anticipation and being without a truck for 2 weeks killed me!
AS SOON as the truck is on a rail car they can get you a rail car number. Given the value and number of shipments they NEED to know where everything is located at ALL TIMES. I wouldn't give them ANY respite! It's your money! Make them earn their money! But be nice! If you are nice, they can't hold anything back & generally makes them feel like the bad guy! The other thing that works in your favor is peppering them with facts...calmly but firmly.
I had a little fun watching the train come out of mexico, into el paso, and make it's way to Phx. And making EVERY BLOODY STOP ALONG THE WAY !

yea see thats the thing... they are saying it will be out of Vera Cruz or already out of Vera Cruz and only getting on a train in Baltimore... they were solid on the date the ship arrived... So once the 19th comes and goes I will give them a ring right away to get the car number... shoot... i will post it up here so you all can watch with me... hehe...
