My HID Lights Install Recommendation For Edmonton, Alberta
I just go HID's installed at F/X Audio in Sherwood Park, Alberta. I had both low and high beams done.
Just wanted to recommend these guys to anyone in the area looking for HID's, starters, or car audio.
Not only did they address the daytime running light issue, upon my request they were able to connect the headlights such that both low and high beam bulbs come one when the high beam switch is on. Wicked bright!!!
I've been to a number of shops and these guys do it right and really know their stuff! Five stars for them!

I have aftermarked headlight assemblies:

The assemblies use H1 bulbs instead. But F/X knew the stock assembly as well and what bulbs they took.
Not sure about HID's being illegal...never even heard of such a thing here in Alberta. Mind you, we have no emmission control here either...people cutting out their catalytic converters and such...so I doubt there is any issue with HIDs.

OOPS! I made a mistake! It's F/X Audio in SPRUCE GROVE 
I went with 4300K on both - which, from talking to the guys at KB Car Stuff, are the colour that give the most intensity of light output. The higher K lights are bluer, but don't give off as many lumens. And instead of installing a bank of lights say, on a bull bar, I thought I'd save some money and install dual sets of HID's, with my projector headlamps, to both come on with brights.
The setup is AMAZING and I'm so glad I've done it. It's funny though...when you turn on the high beams, it doesn't seem like much of an increase - but that's because they take...I don't know...about 10 seconds to warm up. But then when they've warmed up - look out! Super bright! Turn off the high beams and it looks like your low beam HID's are dirty incandescent bulbs - that's how bright the setup is.
I checked out the wiring that F/X did, and these guy's do it right. Very clean.
(I better go back and edit my original post with the correct address)

So they work with the day time running lights? I have HID's too which are sweet but don't work with the daytimes. I have to turn on the switch fully. If I don't, they won't fire... These guys have a fix for that?

You bet they do. They have a wiring kit/method that the daytime running lights become low beams. In other words, when you turn on your truck, instead of DRL, your low beams are on.

J, I got the same problem with the 05 and hids, always have to turn on the headlights or they flash. I'm runnning a resistor harness too. Might have to go to FX......

You mean people are flashing you? You have the stock headlamps or aftermarket? If stock, Way can adjust them properly for you. My headlamp assemblies are aftermarket and Way said I might have to add shims. So far no one has flashed me yet...but I haven't been out on the highway much at night, just in the city.

Hmm...I'll have to take me truck out on the highway the next few days to see.
Who knows...maybe there's some sort of sweet spot, not too low, not too high. More likely, maybe your truck is lifted in the front such that you can't go low enough. I have air springs that bring up the rear, so maybe that helps me out...?

Well, I figured out the "other" setting. Where you insert the bulb is also adjustable. It has a flexible adjusting section. I clicked both sides down a notch and now I can aim my headlights 2' infront of me if I want. I feel like I just solved the world hunger problem!!!!!
