On my 99, when I deleted my mufler, it didnt make much diffrence. however, when the resonator went, the economy dropped a little. Not because of the removal, but when you open the exaust up, then open the back window, you will love the sound. It'll take some time till you stopp putting your foot off in it.

With tht said, I think I did better a little with economy. Maintenance and driving habbits are really the only true costs saving things you can do. All the add ons and gadgets take years to pay back. I got all my pipe free and I allready had a welder so just a Saturday morning was all I put into my muff delete.

When I took off the muffler I belive I gained a small amount of mileage. I hand calculate and it looks like .1 to .2 better. Not much but at this point anything helps.

As long as the kitty is there you are fine on emissions stuff.

Same here. No actual cost to delete it for me.

I took the muffler off and lost mileage. I guess I was always throttling to get to 1600-1800 to make it sound good. Well, as good as a 3rd gen can sound anyway. Now I'm running a Donaldson M090535. IMO the muffler delete sucked...

Now, couple a muffler delete with a 2nd gen manifold and it's all good!

Not a lot. It does give it a more throatier (sp?) sound. I like mine now much more.

Driving slower will net considerably more mpg gains than any mod or deletion you can possibly do !!!!!!

I second that. I slowed dow 15 mph on the freeway and im seeing 5mpg increase. Sucks to be driving to slow but you gotta laugh at those people in their lifted trucks flying by you at mach 1 and wondering what their gas prices are a week.

thanks for the replies. . . already been workin the slower is better plan for milage. . . even with 315's the over head shows just over 20 MPG. If you then calculate for the bigger tire it might be close to 21.6, but we all know the over head is a bit optimistic to say the least. So using the back roads to work meaning 50ish MPH milage has been ok.

I still think deleat is coming, will just have to tell the wify it will improve milage, just won't say how much.
