How Much Tranny Fluid Will It Take
I am changing my tranny filter and will replace whatever tranny oil I lose with new in the process. Since I am not measuring what I lose, how much will I have to put in for a normal filter change?
Thanks

It depends on how long it's been since the truck has moved until you drop the pan.
Takes a while for more and more ATF to drain back into the pan.
What I do is park close by the shop overnight so I don't have to deal with hot fluid then drive just a few feet to drop the pan.
Takes 4-5 quarts.
If I would have dropped the pan after it sat all night without running it would take closer to 10 quarts.
I always measure how much fluid I drain, makes it so much easier to get the level back where it belongs.
