Reb is right, dual pumps like between 12-15 psi at idle. Anything over about 17 will cause noises and excessive rail press. Tim

Too much rail pressure has been a huge issue for me, I do not have duals but a modded single.
My idle pressures were way out of wack as high as 15k. I installed a new modded FCA did not cure, then a new stock FCA no fix.
I checked my pressure relief and it's functioning correctly. Ended up sending pump back for further testing and it checked out perfect. Truck is now at dealership waiting for testing on the ECM and rail pressure sensor.

All I can say is I have narrowed down the problem, I just hope it can be solved and soon.
Dealership has never had a ECM fail!

Is it always high rail pressure. After installing my Stage 2 CP3, mine runs normal pressure for the first 5-10 minutes. Then it started to go high (running down the interstate went off my dipricol optix's reading about 34,000psi), but the gauge dosn't read that high. Idle was around 15,000 psi. I turn it off and turn back on and pressure's normal. It read high probably 10 times like that, then started reading extremely low. I'm still in the diagnosing process.

If I understand your post you have high pressures at idle?
From what I understand pressure spikes are not normal and exceeding 7500k at idle is not good. Where are you at in your diagnosing process??

Everything's normal for 5-10 minutes. Then it can read excessively high or excessively low. It's not just idle though. The first I noticed, the gauge was pegged on the top end (like 34,000 psi when my understading is that the sensor supplying a signal to the gauge only reads to 28,000 psi). The truck seems to run just fine, no unusual smoke, or noise. Also the gauge isn't very steady, and I don't remember what it was with the stock CP3, it bounes around quite a bit. I'm going to the vendor this weekend to have him diagnose what the problem is.

are we sure this isnt a gauge or sensor issue issue? wouldnt extremely high RP have some drivability issues? I know with smarty, it holds pressures high enough after you get off the pedal to keep the tach in the red for a second or 2, if your pressure was too high, you would experience this more exaggerated.

Well I know for sure the guage is telling me close to the truth, when idle pressure increases it sounds like a 2nd Gen. Injectors rattle bad.
For some mysterious reason the communication between the ECM and pressure sensor is corupt.

On mine I don't know. Is there any other way to check? I'm getting the P0148 code. I'm hoping to know one way or another this weekend.
