my friend has an 05 quad cab 2500 4x4 auto. My questio is what do you guys think he will put down on the dyno? here is a list of the mods. they will all be done by the end of the month and we are going to hit the dyno in early february. autometer trans temp, egt, boost, and fuel pressure gauges, gdp ful boss, afe stage 2 cai, ats intake horn and exhaust manifold, 5" turbo back straight pipe, full billet tranny, twin cp3's, htt 66/71/16 ss, flux 2.0's, and triple dog with scarry larry. I told him i thought he would be between 640 and 670 rwhp. What do you guys think, am i close? It will be on a mustang dyno. thanks

I will say close to 700 hp , your buddy has a 05 IMO by far the strongest running truck with that program !

my truck is 06 very close to that same set up

I pulled a 655 + hp over 1250 + ft lbs tq , on a dyno jet at 3000 ft elevation

at the time I had a blown head gasket and a badly scored head , the turbo also did not have the new boost elbow installed at the time, and as a result was only making 32 lbs boost but still putting down decent power !

not too bad for a truck that was limping .........

the HTT ss housings flow big time ...... with the new boost elbows on
they work bad *** the 66/71/16 ss , is a cheeta on the top end !

On a mustang I think he'd be doing good to make 600hp,on a dyno jet your prabably right on.

no hijack , but it seems just the opposite, mustang dyno #s always seem higher and inconsistent vs dyno jet ?

enlighten us ? ........

2 years and much less money and mods ago on the same day at Scheids Diesel Extravaganza I dynoed my truck on bolth Scheids mustang dyno and Dave Dunbars dyno jet. On Scheids dyno I put down 466.5hp & 1280lbs,on Daves dyno I put down 546hp &998 tq. This was with CL,80hp inj,htt sledpuller 66,hot j/a,snow water/meth,scheid cam,and built tranny. 7 mo later we dynod the truck again at TST, We put down 511 hp with Scarry Larry, tst, edge ez,80hp sticks, sled puller turbo, and without water,(water lost us 3 hp) also we did kind of a baseline with just s/l and we started out at 440hp. That truck would have probably turned around 600hp on a dyno jet that time. Also when MSC in ST LOUIS had there dyno day I believe it was Ramnu2 that said one of there trucks that came with them put down 150hp less than they'd dynod before. I think alot of it also is if the dyno is set up correctly to truck. Weight, gear ratio, tire size and ect.. Also some of the people that has put down big numbers on a mustang put them down in overdrive which I was always told you want a 1:1 ratio so overdrive just multiplied that. That descibed why you said the mustangs were sometimes in consistant and would put out high numbers.

As for the truck in mention I think he may want to put a duration box with adjustable timing with the s/l. The s/l pulls real good down low but needs something more on top end. I now since have bought a smarty. Tried my buddies on the setup I have now with beta 4.2. With the smarty you could take timing out and I would advance it 6 degrees on TST. This combo would pull harder than the s/l combo. But I will say the Triple Dog is better for everyday driving, less smoke and not so touchy throttle, so I have bolth. Also he needs to drive that turbo hard to keep egts down. I am deciding if i want to get rid of mine and put on a A5000 or a Silver Bullet for a single since we try to do some sled pulling in summer or send the htt back and have it made into a 64/71/13 and have MPI put a S480 with it for twins.

makes sense I know there are a lot of variables with dynos.

thats why IMO 1/4 et mph is a better measuring stick for HP to the ground that to me is what counts the most !

Just a thought (and I may have read wrong) but if he is gona run dual cp3s and wants all out power (wich by the list of mods it seems that way) why not up the injector size to a flux 3-3.5. He should have plenty of fuel for that other wise I would save some cash an just put on a single floor it pump if he only wants flux 2s. JMO

I agree w/ an auto, but I think it would be almost impossible w/ a hand shaker

i told him he should go with some flux 3's but he said when he talked to the guy he ordered them from he said that they would be a little more smokey and wouldnt have as good of street manners and that is his only vehicle he drives it daily, that is why he opted for the smaller injectors

With that kind of fuel delivery on a single pump would crack an injector, with duals you have more volume, less pressure on the sticks
