to much fuel?
How much fuel is to much? At what punt do you have to worry about washing out the cylinders? Or is this not an issue pertaining to diesel engines

I have heard but never personally verified, that is you let the common rails idle for to long and especially if not at operating temps it will wash the cyclinder walls. I know over fueling can help cool the pistion so you get some benifit but not sure if that is possible on a common rail from what I read. I would think any time your adding extra fuel your going to get some so the question would be when you are doing anything over stock or idling to long when should you be changing the oil and how good your filter is. I could be and have been known to be wrong.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Thier are alot of guys running dual pumps and large injectors on their Daily Drivers and I have never heard a valid report of someone washing down. I wouldnt be concerned unless you plan on running 2 pumps and garden hose sized injectors on your DD, haha.

We have a 05 bus with a Dmax and I swear its cylinder washing. Its sits and idles terrible usually. High idle features really makes it sound bad. But if you sit with it running for say 20 minutes and then take off. It knocks and blows black smoke. I could tell my boss about it but he would just try to blame it on driver. We had a brand new Chevy bus blow an injector. Driver called in saying motor was fluttering and skipping a bit. He said nothing I can do for you behind desk. Get it back here. Bus broke down. Had to be towed. 2 bad injectors that cost him 2300 to fix chevy wouldnt warranty becuase it went into limp mode and he cleared code by turning key to try ot get it back. ECm showed it was driven 39 miles with warning lights on.
