Roger that! I just got of the phone with Roark over at Quadzilla, nice guy. I purchased a boost fooler a while back from Lary but I just haven't been happy with it. I like the top end but the bottom end just isn't there. I think it's because of the lack of slippage from idle to 1500 with the 6 speed. Roark is sending me another fooler at half rate to try, might be the one I have has a hardware glitch. Once again, nice folks over at Quadzilla.

Happy, Thats a fine example of a Australian Cattle Dog that you got for your dad there. Once that white puppy hair goes away, she will have some beautiful markings with the two masks and all. Good Job.
Has anyone heard from Abbynormal??
HappyGA
01-03-2007, 07:59 AM
Yeah, she was almost white at 7 weeks, she changed that much in 1 week. I was amazed, all she really had was the mask and then white hair. I did not know that about them, but the lady that was selling was very knowledgeable, and she had a lot of the Aussies.
I will get to see her in another couple of weeks when I go home and see pops.

Hey, where's the pics of the dog? What cable that thing take Happy? So I can do the update for you? Mind if I take it with me to AZ when I get off the boat? I'll be doing some track testing while out there visiting family. I'll swap you the BDPP till I get back if you want. I know it's not the same, but better than the POS Banks you have now.
Hey, one more thing Happy. There seems to be a CRD Jeep Liberty there in Cullman at Billy Ray Taylor Autos. You know anything about these guys? Here's a link http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=213735288&dealer_id=12523509&car_year=2005&model=LIBERTY&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=Diesel&search_type=both&distance=300&make=JEEP&color=&min_price=1&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=38801&advanced=y&end_year=2007&doors=&transmission=&max_price=18000&cardist=110

Happy New Years......ya'll thought I was dead ! I was a little 'fraid to start get too interested in the ole truck knowing I couldn't climb around on it but I am doing great now. Just got my GoodRich AT 295's in on my rims from Four Wheel Parts. If it quits raining Friday gonna bolt 'em on and throw up some pics. When / where is the next GTG ?

Yeah, I can go and check it out for you street. Not sure on the cable, I will get back with yah. yeah, go ahead and play with her in AZ. No prob. Nah, don't need the BD, tranny likes the way things are now.. haha, gonna get it all fixed in a month or two though. Not going with a full build, getting the overhaul done, and then getting a goerends VB and Triple Disk TC.
Pup is in the Man's Best Friend thread on the last or next to last page..
edit: Hey streetsmoker, the packaging that is in the box that I gave you has all the info you need for the cable. It will tall you what kind you need. If not, let me know and I will call Bob Wagner and find out.

Hey Abby, looks like our next meeting is gonna be with the TNDTR guys at their dyno day in March. IF anyone plans on going, let them know, cause I think he's looking into a sponsor for it. Prob won't be able to dyno, cause the TNDTR guys have 1st dibs and the shop only wants about 10-15 trucks. But it'll be a good meeting regardless.
I gothcha on the cable there Happy. I'll have to look at it as soon as I get off the boat.

I will still sell it if the price is right, but for now its here to stay. I hate to say it, but I will never trust a woman with bill paying and my checking account again. I have been watching my finaces closely over the last few months and have found I have more money than I did before. I dont want to go back and try to track down where my money was going, but rather just move on with my lesson learned. At the rate I am saving, I will be able to pay the truck off within 2 years tops! That will be the day I go out and buy the big bad boy SouthBend clutch and all for it!!!!![roll]

BUMP Hey guys I have BUMP got a question BUMP about my house BUMP.
We are going to add a garage with a breeze way connecting it to the house we are fixing up. Does 30000 seem decent it sounded high until I figured out that is about 35 dollars a sqft. It is 24x36 with no sheetrock on the inside.
HappyGA
01-11-2007, 12:37 PM
just a garage, non-finished, I would lean more to $25-$30 per square foot. That is about 11 yards of concrete at let's say $100 a yard = $1100. So if the rest of the material is gonna cost $20,000, and then you pay the guy $8000 labor, then I guess 30 is fair, but it seems real high to me.
wrglrroper
01-11-2007, 12:59 PM
Thanks Happy, I will talk to him a little see if I can talk him down. My other otion I am thinking of is getting the local building supplier to prebuild the walls and my friends and I putting it up.
HappyGA
01-11-2007, 01:48 PM
yeah, or if you have enough land, maybe a nice metal building somewhere else on te property, but I understand if you want a garage for the woman to park in...

Hey, What's up guys??
waiting on that cold front to hit here in BAMA, it was 70 yesterday, washed the truck.
On another note, I got another red mark in our new points system. I also was told (by higher ups, not a regular member) that I can get banned because I continue to be disrespectful. Just a fair warning to mind your P's and Q's. The internet does not allow your actual emotions nor intent to be seen. Hopefully a misunderstanding, but no worries.

Hmm, I need to go and start an injector thread. I have some questions about how to make them live under pressure boxes... Look for it in 3rd gen performance...
ProspectorTim
01-19-2007, 08:36 AM
Talk about horsepower withdrawals... I'm still laid-up and recovering from my accident. Haven't been able to work on my truck or drive it since October! I've only been able to ride in it a couple of times. (:
Oh yeah - I still don't spend much time on the computer either, since my foot still swells up when I sit up.

01-19-2007, 12:06 PM
Not trying to make you feel bad, just need some dually wheels so I can add some more COOL factor to pick up some more chicks. So consider it doing a public service. I dress the dually up and people driving down the street have something to look at and go "WOW" over, espeacially the womens!!!
Speaking of womens, I have learned through my whole ordeal that women are not hard to come by. Now its just a matter of sorting out the good ones from the bad ones!!!!![laugh]

01-19-2007, 01:43 PM
Wow Happy, thats a bad deal there. I guess as long as you tried them all already then it would be ok. I have a wonderful older sister that knows everyone and thats why the women seem to be so easy to come by. You have to be carefule though. I ended up attending a party with two of these ladies at the same party by mistake. That was a tuff one to play off but I did it!!!![duhhh]

Looks like somebody is looking for a little sympathy, well...........not from me buddy.[nonono] As I recall there was a thread a little while back where a certain UN-happy transplant from the state to our immediate east was carrying on, well, let's just call it what it was, whining, because his flavor-of-the-month wanted his key so she could do something nice for him so he wouldn't be UN-happy. I also recall allot of warnings but would he listen to us, nooooo, we all got poo-pood and now he's got to be a good boy. I'd like to thank the character Major Payne, for these words "You'll get no sympathy from me! If you want sympathy look in the dictionary between spit and syphilis!":o He-he-he. Didnt get to catch the monster trucks. 1st Gen was, but his boy got into a little trouble and didnt get to go!!!!
So guys, T-Rad has all but agreed to sell me four of the extra dually wheels that he has aquired. My only problem is, he want me to name a price! I figure this could be fun for every one so, how much do you guys think a set of 4 dually wheel is worth? Remember, these wheels are not new, but are not bent or anything like that. They will accept a tire and will hold air, what more do you want? There T-Rad, we will average it out and I will make my offer off of that I guess!!![laugh]

01-22-2007, 01:15 AM
Yeh, I'd have to say they're worth at least $.75 a piece or so.

Hmm, well since the tirade of me being the good boy..
I will have to add that the wheels should just be a hand me over, since they are obvioously taking up room. I bet if you called Mrs. Trad, that you could prolly get her to make him give them to you, especially if you show her the thread where he states that "I" shouild have to suffer like the rest of yall.. I bet she will like that one. mwah hahahaha... Don't mess with happy...
So yes, I say freebie as long as DMAX comes and gets them...

01-22-2007, 12:34 PM
I have been searching on the net and have found what I can buy new ones for. I must say, I thought they would be worth more than what they sell for new? Keep it coming guys. I say after the end if this week I will just average them all out and offer that fot them!!!
smokey196240
01-22-2007, 06:43 PM
 Well $2.00 each might be a good price if they come with tires.[whistle] If I get to buy my after market rims for my beast, Ill donate mine to a good home but that might be awhile yet.
DmaxEter
01-22-2007, 06:58 PM
Well then smokey, What aftermarkets have you decided on? Go on and give that truck what it deserves. You already put that awsome bed on it, now its time for a set of 22.5" wheels!!!! That thing would be BAD with a set of them!!!!!!
smokey196240
01-22-2007, 09:35 PM
Well 22.5s would be awsome, but also 19.5s would not be so bad would it? It also depends on what the boss lets me have,She is pretty good about that but with the edge with the A-2 with back-up cramra and the road armor front bumper already on the wish list I dont want to cross that river till I get there because I might have to build a bridge to cross it,(with her hitting me over the head once in a while [duhhh] as im building it) But as with everything were doing to it she has not had anything bad to say only good things.so yes hopfully 22.5s

I finally got OFF the picc line and home IV's,and the doc gimme crutches and a walkin boot, and says I can start putting weight on that foot. Let the pain be my guide to HOW MUCH.
When can we do lunch?

Anytime any of ya'll want to get together at my place just give me a holler. I bet we can get pizza delivered to the basement. For anybody that don't know and don't have time too go back thru the notes:
I fell down the elevator shaft (long story, bring beer) here back in October. I survived the fall! I broke my right femur (bone poked out of my leg), and my heal was shoved out the bottom of my right foot. My left leg is just fine. I have a titanium rod and no problems with the femur. A week after they took the stitches out of my foot, it got infected, swelled up and split the wound wide open. ...Two months later, the infection is under control (gone?) and the wound is closing up. I'm still fighting the swelling, but it ain't as bada s it was. Now I can start putting weight on the foot, and HOPE to be able to drive again, SOON!
As soon asa I can work on the truck (with or without help), I'll be dropping the fuel tank to install the Draw-Straw and figure out why I keep building a vaccum in the tank. Then I'm ordering a Smarty. :D Y'all watch out!

Man Tim, I would definately head that way if I wasnt on my death bed! I guess I got the flu or something.
All is not bad over here though. I have met a very nice girl. She is what I would normally classify as "out of my league" but evidently there are women out there that want a nice, respectful guy. We have spent a lot of time together over the last few weeks and we really enjoy each other. I am not going to jump into this though. I will go slow and take it easy and do what feels comfortable. She is blond, 29, no kids, and a smokin' hot body!![duhhh][coffee] I will keep you informed on whats going on with us. Oh yea, I promise, at the next meet, she will attend with me if I dont scare her off before then.

Well, got to the track out here in PHX, AZ a little late and well past it's prime for the night. Couldn't hook for EDIT at all. Did get a best mph though even spinning like crazy, and with the bottle of 13.11@112.47mph with a sorry EDIT 60ft. of 2.47. Sea level correction by the way on that run is 12.98@113.1mph. The elev. here is 1500ft. Heck, I couldn't even break into the 12's at all. And to make it worse, dozens of people were hovering around me saying "man this this is insane, wish you were here earlier when the track was hooking".

As you know, I'm taking donations......................................... .as those things are running $280 a pop!!! I'll prob just slap the DR's on 1st and see what it'll do with just tires. Then fab up the ladder bars with Dmax sometime therafter.
I know you can make math do whatever you want, and there is more to getting good times at the track. But, if you simply just deduct my normal 60ft. times of 2.0 away from that 112mph run, it would have been at the minimum a 12.6; most likely better. But oh well.
I did ask the track manager after they closed about why things got slick right past the launch pad, and he said they didn't prep the track anywhere past the 100ft line b4 the test and tune session, because they allready had done it earlier that day for a West Coast Hot Rod Association event they have going on this weekend and didn't think it was needed.

So Street, you think the SMARTY is looking like it is gonna do better for you or worse?
ProspectorTim
02-05-2007, 10:39 AM
Well, I hooked up the Smarty yesterday.
First thing, it tells me I got a P0216 code - which goes real nicely with my occasional "dead pedal" syndrome and screwy dyno run. My injection pump has given me "notice". :(
I went ahead and set the tire size and put 'er on level 9 anyhow. I'll plug in the GPS and check my speedo on the way to today's Dr. appt. I wanted to at least get that done (check & clear codes, step up power, and set tire size) before I messed with updating the Smarty software - which I just did. The update appeared to work, so later today I'll plug it in and test the new "anti-theft" level-0 mode. :D
P0216 is an injection timing error. Can you fix or replace just the electronic portion of the vp44?

I do not think I am the best member in their eyes for some comments that I made a while back. Thing is I see comments about other brands on here everyday, and I just say oh well, guess they got a red box for that one too..
First off let me assure you that NOBODY here thinks you are a bad guy, neither Jack nor myself harbor any ill will toward you in any manner what so ever.
You made a couple of comments about another brand of vehicle that could only be taken as confrontational by other members. We want you to voice your opinion here, we just want you to do it in a manner that doesn't start an argument and get the whole thread shut down.
For an example I had to remove a comment from another fellow here a few days ago it was simply "(Other Brand) = POS". A comment like that in a running thread about about that other brand WILL draw fire from the owners of that brand who had up till then been having a good discussion with owners of all brands.
The only thing a comment like that can guarantee is that the thread will fall apart and have to be locked down. The funny thing is that same thread had already been closed multiple times on the site that specializes in that brand, but here on what is mostly a Cummins site, it was 98% friendly discussion and going strong.
We don't want this site to be viewed as though any person driving something other than a Dodge, will be hog tied and run off the first time they open their mouth with a legitimate question.
This forum is about sharing information and not bashing each others choice of vehicle. The comment you had removed was not the same as that one, but similar enough that it could also only cause the thread to fall apart when tempers flared up.
It was removed NOT because of your opinion, but because of the manner in which you said it. We welcome all opinions here as long as they are respectful of the other members, that is the very basis of our forum rules.
You can easily make your point that you dislike Brand "B" without making it look like you are challenging a guys manhood just because he drives a truck with a different emblem on the hood. I am not saying you did that, I am merely trying to make a point here.
Say what you have to say, do it in a courteous manner and you will not have to be concerned with infractions or posts being edited. That is all we ask of ALL the members here, including ourselves.
We know that sometimes you make mistakes, I have had a few posts of my own removed because they didn't fit the guidelines here. I used each of those instances as a learning experience and try to do better as I move on.
Thats what we want you guys to do as well, no hard feelings intended when your stuff gets edited. Just try to learn from it, and don't sweat the small stuff.
The guys that have problems here are NOT guys like yourself that make an occasional mistake, we see that as normal. The problems come from those guys that can not deal with being told "No" so they spend every effort trying to be a PIA on the forums after they receive a warning.
They eventually succeed at being a bigger pain than they are worth, and get sent packing. Often acting as though they have no clue why even though they went out of their way to be a disruptive influence.
I surely don't see you in that category, but I mention it only in hopes of making you see the bigger picture. We just want the forum to flow good info without a bunch of trash talking and brand bashing that only takes away from the very thing that brings us all here ;)
At DTR we don't care what brand you choose to drive, we just want everyone to get along and reap the rewards a forum like this can give to us all.
Happy, you are a valued member here, a simple slip up does not change that, nor will it in the future :).

There I was, just backing out of a tight parking space, trying to get away from the planter on my right side and avoid the cars parked behind me - when I felt & heard this "pop" and my brakes and steeing went away. :D
I haven't even looked under the hood yet, but I searched DTR & TDR forums, and the closest match to my symptoms seems to be that I may have sheared off the drive-coupler between the power steering pump and the vacuum pump. But until I investigate further, that is just a guess.
Anyhow, I called my wife and had her meet me at the hanger, where I left the truck. Baskin Robins folks forgot to give her a spoon, and her ice cream was melting, so I didn't have time to check *anything* under the hood of my truck. [dummy]

We just stopped by and popped the hood. No oily mess - so I'm figuring the hydroboost accumulator didn't blow out the nitrogen. I'm still thinking it is the drive coupling between the vacuum pump and the ps pump. If so, the broke part is on the vacuum pump; and I've got almost 150,000 miles on the ps pump which doesn't have a good reputation. I figure I'll probably need to replace both. Hey, I'm wondering if anyone here is willing to volunteer to take my truck over to the dyno day the TNDTR boys are throwing next month, as I'll be going back to the Philippines for a couple weeks and won't make it. Free use of the rocket truck and I'll even help out with the fuel if someone takes me up on this offer. I just want to know what the think puts down with the new notrous system.
Anyone interested, just post up or pm me!!!!

Hey street, I sent a PM under 1stgens name. I plan on going and had no intentions of dynoing my ride. If you want me to take yours I can. Let me know and we will go from there. You will need a place to store it while youre gone anyway it looks like so that will work out good.

I don't have the Hot Juice, and slightly smaller turbo, but should make 600hp no problem given less parasitic loss and bigger injectors and nitrous. Maybe 650. ProspectorTim
02-24-2007, 04:04 PM
First of all, that's my wife's quad. After we bought them, she started going to college for her master's degree. I went riding; she studied. Her quad is low mileage & low hours.
She don't like mud, and never does the crazy stuff that I do (rock crawling & such). Her quad has never been rolled.
When it came time to clean up the quads to sell them, her quad was the easy one. [whistle] I normally use Turttle Wax Formula 2000 to clean the plastic parts. It works better than Armor All, and makes the black parts look real good (no white residue).

Hello gents, I'm out of central MS and have had Dodge diesels since 1998. Lets see, I've had an 89, 94, 95, 01 and now the 02. I'm not really a mechanic but have messed around gas and diesel engines since the late 70's. I work for the fire department, love to travel. Just picked up my 02 today from Louisiana from a breakdown this past weekend, if only I had brought my tools with me. Look forward to meeting everyone.

I'm prez, Dmax is vice and 1stgen is our resident basket case.
We've had a few come and go this past year, but me & Dmax are the only original founders left and have attended every meeting, with Prospector, Happy and Totally Rad not far behind.
No real rules here, if there's something you need answered, you got Dmax who's like a trillion certified diesel mechanic (or something like that) who might can answer, or at least lie to you well enough you might believe him[laugh] [laugh] [laugh]. Anything going on in your life you wish to share? Go ahead and let us know. Look forward to see'n you as well.
As for our scheduled meetings, usually during the spring to fall periods we meet every month. Our next official meet is gonna be the joint MSDTR #31 and TNDTR #34 dyno day in Nashville next month. If you decide to go, You won't get to meet me but you'll see the truck and Dmax will probly brag about how he's the real reason it runs so fast.

"17th of this month" == St Patrick's Day
At this point, my truck isn't driveable.
I would need to get back home early enough to particpate in whatever festivities on/around Beale St.
I still have one more NEWCASTLE and one more Guiness in the fridge at my shop. I can always run for more after the truck is drivable.
[coffee] [coffee] [coffee]
1. What will get your truck driveable?
2. I will be working at the firehouse the 17th.
3. I've been known to drink a Guiness.
ProspectorTim
03-01-2007, 05:41 PM
Currently, it has no power steering or power brakes. Apparent culprit is the drive coupling between the vacuum pump and the p/s pump. Did I forget to mention that I'm still hobbling around in a "walking boot" - but my foot is on the mend?
Which firehouse? I live almost across the street from the fire station at Union & Front.
U like Guinness and DmaxEter prefers NEWCASTLE; and I ain't picky. Maybe if we can all get together on a Saturday or Sunday we can remove & inspect the pumps and order parts (FORWARD SECTION COMPLETE WITH SEAL KIT (http://www.fixinrams.com/id21.html) ??), and maybe have time to drop the fuel tank to install the Vulcan Draw Straw.
I'm game, bout a 3 hour drive for me, my firehouse is in Ridgeland, MS.

Well, I've made a little progress on that vacuum pump ( working a little bit at a time).
I've got all the power steering lines loose and all the vacuum lines except the little braided steel line on the back side. I also removed the nut that holds the negative battery cable to the side of the PS pump and moved the cable aside. I still don't want to order parts until I know for sure what's broke, and the extent of the damage.
As for the Draw Straw project, The fuel gauge says 3/8. If I finish the vacuum pump project I'll drive it 'till I burn off enough fuel to drop the tank. If I do this project while I'm waiting on vacuum pump parts then the fuel can go to whoever whoever drives the furtherest to help me. [dummy]

I am almost affraid that I wont get in it hard enough on the dyno to make it do what its capable of!
While we are on the subject though, I noticed while standing in the garage the other day there was a nice puddle of oil on the ground under it. Upon further inspection it was found the oil filter was leaking. I slapped a new one on it and all appears to be good again. [coffee] I didnt run it much but I figure by the time I get to nashville in it if it hasnt leaked then I fixed it!
I was just sitting in the reading room at work and scrolling through my contacts in my phone and thought to myself, " wheres billygoatyj been". I guess now we know!! Whats been going on with you? You want to follow me up to the dyno day?

03-13-2007, 01:55 PM
Well, It's good to know someone was thinkin of me. [laugh] I've just been working. As for the dyno day, I've got stuff to do that afternoon so I'll have to make the next one. I think you'd have to give me a head start anyway, following and keeping up would be a challange. [redface]
If we have and April meet I should be able to make it as long as it's not on the 21. But the other Saturdays could fill up fast.
On a not so good note. My truck had a little dead pedal the other day about three times. But it only did it that little bit and didn't throw any codes. Maybe it will play nice for a little while longer. And my fuel gauge works sometimes and sometimes not. So I plan to check the wires this afternoon and see if I can find a loose one.

Streetsmoker, saw the truck run on the dyno today. I'll let Patrick fill you in on the numbers. Something was going on, not what I had expected, great numbers however I believe they were at the top on horsepower, but not to sure on the torque. I know Boz put out 451hp/907 torque and Mark in his 1st gen pulled down 371/880?? on torque with his injectors, turbo upgrades and water/meth. Street, saw your truck yesterday, i have to say i love the fact that it doesn't really look like anythings been done to it (on the outside) and even once you pop the hood, with the nitrous hidden like that. something was up when he hit the nitrous, numbers actually went down! Patrick thought maybe the wheels spun on the rollers when it hit... I tend to agree something just didn't add up. BTW, i love the sound of the Phat Shaft 62, man that thing can sing.

I am gonna make a post in the 3rd gen performance section to post up the dyno graph and to give Bob and Marco some feedback on how the Smarty turned out some good numbers on a stock truck..

Ok Street, The HG seems to be ok. Like mentioned, it got warm and puked a little coolant. Not big deal. The only problem I have is the numbers. I will discuss them with you later. Did anyone figure out how to open the dyno files he sent us? I would love to look at the bar graph and see what happend for real. When you coming home Street?

03-20-2007, 09:20 AM
okay, save the files he sent to a folder somewhere on your desktop. Download the dyno software "winpep 7" that he mentioned in his email. Once it is downloaded it will be in your start menu bar. Click start/ then click "all programs, and it should be added in that bar as "Winpep 7"
now, open the winpep 7 program once it is installed, and then it runs like any other program. Go to the top toolbar, and click file, then open. Then go to that folder on your desktop when it asks for the file you want to open, and open any of them you want. You can opne them all at one time, and then you can go back and delete the ones you don't want by going to the box at the top with the file names in it and clicking it, which will highlight that file, and then hitting delete... . Sure would be good to see Abby come back, cause he has a great lakehouse we could utilize.
I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK ! Whats going on ? Man We can use the lakehouse anytime ! I've been mostly occupied lately doing the old job search....sob's laid me off after my hip replacement. Anyway it was time after 25 years. Now I'm working kinda close to Streetsmokers. Im at FMC. Actually have done a lil work to the ole family truckster, new wheels , tires, stereo fog lights, projector headlights... so whats the plan for the next meeting ?

Ok guys, looks like we have the place, so all we need is a date and time. Me, I'm thinking same as usual. Around 10am. Of course we need to meet at a designated spot then follow Abby to his lair. LOL!!!!![laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
I can make the May 5th date.

Ok, the 5th is best for me also. So lets make it the 5th of May at 10AM in New Albany, MS. Once Abby chimes back in, he can let us know where the best place for a staging spot is at.

Where is everyone at?
Looks like I have to break out the old, and seldom used (for fear of attracting the wrong people's attention) MSDTR #31 official roll call bell.

What all those tempting pictures and Dmax has not posted yet???? He must have lost the sent of Newcastle!! Well I'd say I would be there, but the next day is my Birthday......so I'll be out doing whatever all weekend. I may however find a way to meet you "other" chapter guys if you don't mind. I'll have to look into it and see. According to the map looks like a bunch of two lane roads from Columbia to New Albany down through Corinth and Booneville.
That's a funny name....is it by chance in the Boonies?? [laugh] [laugh]

Cool guys. Dodgeguy, the quickest way for you is strait down the Natchez Trace to Tupelo then shoot accross. Belive me when I say you can drive 60mph without worry, even though its posted as 50mph.
