mpg setup?
iv been trying to get the best mpgs i can. just did the hub convertion, now looking at injectors and some trany work. i was thinking of getting a triple disk converter, new valve bady (any sudjestions on brands) and f1 mach 1.6 injectors. i tow and haul alot so i have to worry about egts. sudjestions? ideas?

If you don't do any towing, pull the fan, clutch, and shroud off. Change to Evans NPG coolant so if/when you are stuck going slow for 20 minutes non-stop in 100F weather, the resulting 230F coolant temps won't hurt a thing.
Been running fanless for almost a year now and never had a problem. Picked up 2-3MPG, was a big change.

I think the electric fans are not that expensive:
It looks like it's $550 from Jeg's here.
Here's my recipe for maximum mpg:
1) M1 or 1.6 injectors.
2) Quad XZT+ module
3) 235/85r16 tires at high pressure
4) tonneau cover
5) free-spin hubs
6) Tight 91% DTT converter in a DTT trans
7) Synthetic lubes in all gearboxes and differentials.
8) Larger turbine housing on stock turbo
9) 4" exhaust
10) Helix 2 cam
11) FASS or Airdog fuel system
Obviously, most of these mods will never pay for themselves, but I think the freespin hubs and electric fans have a good chance of paying for themselves reasonably soon.

I picked up about 1-2 mpg going from stock injectors to a set of DD Super Mentals(140hp). I have since lost that 1-2mpg buy going to M6's and then M7's I still get 17-18 most of the time.

sounds like ur the guy i want to bounce some things off of then. im not going to do the tires cuz i want the truck to look good, im going to end up with some 33s on it but i figer that shouldnt set me back to far as long as i drive it right and do everything elce practical to get my mpgs up. i need to chang all my geabox oil, any better brand to go with? have a flat bed so no tonneau, u say larger turbine houseing on stock turbo? wont that slow my spool up a little? or would the injectors counter that? any good housing i should be looking at? i know ill have more questions after i do some research

i spent about $1500 after all said and done, theres 2 threads talking about just them. one i started called hub convertion. it has a link and a bunch of info from a few of us that did it. now i had to do the cad delete too u might not have to or want to do it. it was really pritty easy. not any harder then changing barings on the same type of set up. all in all i needed new barings and rotors this kit came with everything. so i might of still made it out ahead. ill go get that link and post it here too

I think a set of RV275 injectors would go nice with what you are doing. I'm running a DTT Torque converter and valve body with 275 injectors, my trans was in good shape so i did not need a complete rebuild. The livestock vb i beleive is a real smooth shifting so not to jerk trailer. Therre were a couple other parts installed in tranny to make it down shift in first (around 10mph)when coasting down to a stop. The 275 injectors did increase mileage slightly.
