This may help. I mounted mine in the same place, my 01 had it on the back side but it was always in the way for fuel filter change, so this time I mounted mine like these instructions show.......

Diesel Manor sells a boost bolt with a compression fitting on it. I dont know who you bought your gauges from but I believe you can just the bolt from Diesel Manor.. Nice thing about that is there is no drilling at all.

Yeah, get up on that boost bolt, for $7.95 it is well worth it IMO.
