What are you guys seeing for higher mile trucks and their durability? If I buy the new 07 I'm looking at I'd like to get to 175k with out any major problems.

Im at 62,000miles and have no major problems all my other cummins have 190,000+km and this truck will be no different. heck, the trans warranty will just be off at 175k.

So you will start having problems with your tranny at 176K [laugh]

But I don't think you will have any trouble at 175K.

I am now at 186,146 miles on my C&C. I've had a few problems, but they all had to do with the "environmental" equipment that the truck came with. All those problems have now been solved and for the last 35,000 or so miles I've had zero problems. The automatic transmission warranty is for 180k, which I've now exceeded, but still have had no problems. The transmission is a winner, and after the "environmental" equipment is taken care of, the whole truck is a winner. It will work for you.

What kind of mpg do you get?
Is your truck stock smog?
How heavy is your truck loaded/ empty?

Thanks for the input.

The mileage (just the truck) is around 16 on the hwy, 12 - 14 everyday driving. Pulling a 40 ft gooseneck empty, around 12, 10 or less with a load on.

Second question, the answer is no.

The truck weighs 9460 empty, with the gooseneck it is around 18,000. My mileage on the truck now is 217,300+ but it has slowed way down because of the lack of oilfield work. I'm now running a grain elevator.

Thanks eb290,
my truck weighs 14,000 empty and 19,500 loaded. Mileage for the first 7,000 miles averaged about 8.9 mpg. I unpluged the EGR and it went to 13.5 on a short trip. I will check it on the next road trip. It is a just a little less loaded then empty.
Thanks again.

I forgot to mention my truck is a 3500 cab and chassis, not a 4500 or 5500. They weren't making them when I got my truck.
