i was wondering if any one could tell what are cheap mods that i can do to my truck.

FIRST OF ALL WELCOME TO DTR. the cheapest and the one that can save you the most money is a fuel presure gauge then add some bigger injectors from $300 to $900 or a comp for $550 or so, and then theres the smarty for $650 or do them all with an intake and ex. and hang on

run down to autozone and pick up some window stickers. they add hp to ricers so should do the same for ctd's

he will learn that is cheap, WHEN he get's the FEVER that when it gets HIGH DOLLAR dont forget the tranny or clutch that's the first to go

look into the new edge juice with attude . this box will give you the fun of more power and also will give you your needed gauges . shop around for them cause some shops want more than others .

the issue with the VP44 trucks is that there really are no cheap mods. you can't modify the injection pump, plate, star wheel, etc like the p-pumped trucks. an electronic box is EASY to install and adds good power, but used boxes go for $250 on up...
if you want to start the process of making more power, go with the gauges first. add a box when you can, but you'll probably want to improve the stock lift pump and start saving some money for a clutch or torque converter in the not-too-distant future!
