More '07 5.9 high idle, 6speed questions?

Truck in my sig, build Jun'07.
Took it to the dlr to have the high idle enabled Sat. Tech decided he'd hook up the green wire under the dash (to ground) for me also (nice guy).
Couldn't find that wire to save our lives. Had the whole underside of the dash apart, all wire looms pulled apart and ther's no single capped wire.
There is, however an unused 6 pin connector (not the trlr brakes) that he believes is where the clutch stop switch hooks up. He's done the green wire deal on '06 trucks, but none here. The switch is $35 and there's a connector that DC says may not be present and a part available for that as well.
I think my truck already has the connector. Anyone with experience with this.?

Also, looked at pin #22 on both the C1 and C2 ECM pin outs and neither appears to enable the high idle if hooked up to ground. I don't remember what each pin was, but the tech didn't reccomend grounding either of them.
Any clarification would help.
Would rather not buy a $35 switch if it can be done another way.

Lastly, was re-loading the Bully dog after taking it to the shop and noticed the high idle enable (auto only). Would this enable it in the ECM on a manual as well, knowing that another step has to happen as well (above)?
Thanks

I have the same truck, essentially. I installed the pin to ground on the ECM. This is a $13 pin I purchased from cummins and had to follow the directions posted here to install it. Remember that there is a little rubber plug in the empty connector. If I remember correctly, you seat the pin and wire in the connector block and then install the block onto the ECM connection. Then, I went to a local dealer and had them enable the high idle feature with star scan tool.

Once you have the pin grounded, and once enabled in the ECU, you can park, put the truck in neutral, set your parking brake, take your foot off the brake pedal, turn on the cruise control and press set and it should kick up the idle. Then you can use the accel and decel buttons to increase or decrease the idle setting.

and this

I too have the same truck but a June 07 build would give you a 6.7. Any truck built after Dec 31st 06 has the 6.7

Are you sure? I thought I understood that they had a waiver from the EPA to exhaust their remaining stock?

Any diesel produced from jan 1 2007 and up is designed to only run the ultra low sulfer fuel and has a slew of extra emission stuff. This is why I got an early production 07 and I was just down in Rocky Point Mexico and filled her up with $2.00 a gallon 300 ppm fuel and it ran the best if ever has.
Just look on the door jam and check your production date.

I have a june of 07 build date, and even without the door sticker, I can tell the difference between a 5.9 and a 6.7. Perhaps the OP will clear things up!

To the OP:

I have an '08 and i have the little green wire under there that is capped. I've been meaning to ground it and get the high idle enabled but haven't gotten around to it. If it's on the 06's and it's on my 08 i can't see why it wouldn't be on your 07, regardless what engine is under the hood.

I don't think there is any "factory" wire to ground to get the high idle to work. I also did like Adam did (for my 06), bought the pin from Cummins.

This is the wire. Ground it, enable the high idle through the StarScan, and enjoy.

I haven't done it on my '08 yet but have seen it done at the dealership and it works. No pin needed. Not sure if this wire is on the 06's but it sure is on the 08's.

Dumb question, but is that wire just hanging there from the factory??

It was actually tucked behind the bracket you see in the picture but yes, it is capped and just sitting there from the factory.

So all you do is strip it then connect to one of those 2 bolts right there (if that will work as a ground?)

My mistake, I meant to say purchased June '07. It's one of the late 5.9's, built late '06.
