I am putting on a set of OEM MOPAR REAR SPLASH GUARDS today. Do you guys recommend sealing behind them with anything, silicone, grease, undercoating, ect. or just put 'em on & not worry about rusting behind them!!

Get the Dura-Flap ones, they are MUCH stronger and look better, IMO...

I think I win the redneck of the month award for my mud flaps LOL I took a old mud flap that tore off our semi and traced the bottoms of the stock short mud flaps and then i cut accordingly then bolted the two together and have been flawless and rock chip free now for about a month.



Let me tell you this I cut these darn things with a saw blade on my leather man because the band saw was to dull and the jig saw was up at the other shop and thats all I had and my forearms and arms hurt for a month LOL

I have the molded Mopar mudflaps on for about two years. I just installed them and forgot them. My last trucks still has the molded mudflaps for over nine years, No abnormal rust.

Pet05, I have the duraflaps on my truck and love them!! If you dont mind me asking how did you attach the rams head emblem? I have wanted to put some on mine since I got them, but wasn't sure about securing them. That looks awsome. Thank-you. Paul

I ordered the large Ram emblem from Geno's Garage. They are OEM and sell for about $10.00 a piece. The come with double sided 3M Gray tape.

I just cleaned the flap with rubbing alcohol and then mounted the emblem. I used THREE - black headed, stainless steel self-tapping screws (Ace Hardware) to make sure that they do NOT fall off. The 3M tape would probably be OK but I wanted to make sure. The screws only have to be long enough to go thru the emblem and then into the flap. You don't want to have them too long as the screw will be JAGGED at the tip. Mine just sit flush with the flap so the screw tip does not stick out. I then put some black silicone on the tip to make sure that I don't get scratched by it if I am sticking my hand behind the tire and flap. (I am a perfectionist by nature so I go to the extremes with everything....)

Also, I drilled a pilot hole INTO the plastic emblem BEFORE I ran the screws. BE CAREFUL - the plastic emblem can break if they are tightened down too tight with the screws.

I made mine to hang off of the frame both front and rear of the rear tires.On the front ( of rear) they get the 24X32" Mud flaps and the rear get 24X36" mud flaps this keeps most of the stones and mud this time of the year for hunting. I also support the rear flaps with chain from a bracket mounted back of the mud flap. Sorry I don't know the angle of incindence that is required for this.The short and narrow mud flaps won't stop the mud and stones hitting the tralling edge of the body frame and the rear bumper. I have 24X36" mud flaps on the trailling edge. All this works great unlike the truck since new.

NB64, Thanks for the reply, I did installed them yesterday, Only had to drill one hole in sheet metal, and that screw came with some kind of coating on the threads!! Hopefully they won't rust out!
Thanks for the other opinions, but I already had the Mopar Splashguards
