Mopar cold weather front

I went to install my mopar winter front cover the other day, and noticed that I have 3 rips in it. They are all from the little lower hook deals that catch the three holes in the bumper. Did anyone else have this problem?

i did, I removed it after 5 months of service and returned it to the dealer for a new one. they did NOT want to give me a new one, I had to remind them that it was a genuine mopar product and that it should have a 1 year warrantee. Parts guy was a little more responsive after I pushed back, he said he'd send it away and see what they said about a replacement. Next day I got a call and a new boxed one was waiting for me to pick it up.

I put my new one on the other day and it seems to be making a whistle noise. Only way to describe it really, like a really bad wind noise coming from the front end. I will have to inspect it soon.

But I think at the speeds I travel its only a matter of time before it rips again!

I'll double check mine later this week. I've had mine for 2 years and have'nt notice any, but I don't hook the bottem hooks because the holes are plugged with the Fog light harness holders.

Mine had the fog light plugs too, so I popped the plugs out and secured the loom with small zip strips. That way the hooks would attach. I've had mine for about a month past one year, so I'm stuck with it. I'll have to try a good cleaning, and some black duct tape. If the tape doesn't work, I'm sure a shoestring will.

Mine also has the fog light wiring harness plugging the holes. I found I could pull the hooks toward the radiater and the hooks will hook on the bottom of the first radiater. Works well. cdru

Do you have the Dodge bug deflector on the hood? Mine makes a whistle noise when both the bug deflector and winter front are installed. Remove the bug deflector for the winter and the whistle will go away.

I second that Thank You. My Mopar winter front drove me crazy last winter because it wind whistled constantly. Tried everything I could think of to cure it, and eventually got tired of it and just took it off. Never thought about the bug deflector.

anyone who uses the winter front cover and have a trans temp gauge notice if the trans temp runs higher with the front cover on? could this lead to more trans failures?

I found that if when you are installing your winter front, you
attach the bottom hooks first. It makes it a lot easier to install.

Exactly the opposite of the instruction sheet that comes with
the Mopar Winter Front, Go Figure !

I noticed with a peice of card board in front of the radiator only did make my tranny temps higher. They run around 170-180 without any cover. With the cover it will go to 190-195. I was going to put a winter front cover on mine. But The last test showed me not to cover it "all" up like the mopar cover does. I will just keep using my little peice of card board with a hole cut in the center of it. It works just fine and cost alot less. I am not sure I want the higher temps the front cover brings on.

I had one of the hooks that go on the bumper support rip out. I drilled 3 small hole in it and re-attached it to the cover with zip ties. The zip ties goo around the renforced edge and seemed much strong than before.
