Question Mods for increasing fuel economy on 600s...

In an effort to conserve fuel usage and save money, I would like to ask everyone for some advice. What mods should I install on my truck to increase fuel economy without voiding the warranty or causing damage to the engine?

I am fully aware of the basics like driving slower (65 mph on the interstate) and inflating tires to the proper pressure. What I am unsure about are the true benefits of syntheics in the drivetrain, aftermarket intakes, free flow exhaust, fuel boxes, etc. Can anyone offer me any advice. I am not looking for "snake oil" products either. Just stuff that will really improve the bottom line when it comes to fuel cost. I am not concerned about powergains either. But of course I wouldn't object if I got a little boost! That would just be gravy.

My truck will get around 19.0 mpg on the interstate running 65 mph empty. Pulling a 8000 lbs trailer at 65 mph I get around 12.0 mpg on the interstate. I have not had the TSB performed on the truck for fuel mileage. I dont have the white smoke issue and my mileage computer is right on. So I am very reluctant to have the reflash performed.

Thanks for the help guys!

I would do the reflash anyway. I run my tire pressure at 75lbs front and 70 rear. that helps .5mpg. toneau cover helps too. synthetic Motor oil helped by .5 mpg. I would like to get a fuel box but don't have the money yet, I hear they help on the lowest setting. Of course a diesel motor has to breath so I've got a free flow muffler and am saving for a RamAir III intake system. Thinking about straight piping it.

My .02

Jamie

PS my mpg numbers are hand calculated and accurate. currently the best tank so far for me has been 16.7 unloaded with 50/50 hwy city driving.
