Mod Money

I've been racking my mind over what mods I want to do next. Im trying to stay in the range of 3-4000, so twins are out of the picture for right now. I know my factory turbo is hating life right now pushing 40 pounds of boost on a Level 5 run, so a bigger turbo is a must along with some Mach 4's to spool it. I do eventually want to move to a twin turbo setup so I thought maybe the Super B would be a good choice. I want to stay around 500 ponies until I get more money. I am definitely going to sell my Edge Juice and buy a quadzilla, test drove a truck with one the other day and I couldn't stop smiling, the low end is absolutely amazing. Also, is a new cam, such as a F1 Helix 2 a good investment, or not really a nescessity in my setup? Any help you guys could offer would be appreciated, I want this money spent on the right stuff the first time.

Rodney (Metalman) made 514/1100 back in November with his 01 automatic running Juice w/ Attitude, Mach 4's and a HTT HTB2 62/12. The good think about getting something like a 62/12 or a 62/14 is they make on excellent top charger in a twin set when mated with a S400 under it. Rodney has done the same thing you want to do, move to twins. He just got his head ported/o-ringed along with F1 valve springs preparing for twins. He is going to use his 62/12 as the top charger.

Quadzilla doesn't have the monitor out just yet for the Adrenaline. Don't know how long that will be. If you don't have the Hot Juice I would give that a try first for $100. You can find a good set of used Mach 4's for about $700, once in a while a 62/12 gets sold on here for $1000, thats what pete2141 sold his for recently. I would get a good Southbend clutch. For your setup right now I would say a Helix 2 is not needed.

sorry, I haven't updated my sig, when I pulled the transmission last weekend I checked the clutch that was in it, it is a MU 13-1.25 Con FE. I knew it had an upgraded clutch in it when I bought it, but just didn't know what one. Although it has a VERY rough engagement sometimes, it holds all the power I can throw at it. I REALLLY want to get a quad adrenaline, but the guages on the edge are nice. Kind of torn right now.

Well thats good you don't have to worry about the clutch The good thing if you get the Hot Juice you can resale it for a little bit more so you don't lose to much. I think everyone else will agree Mach 4's and 62/12. If you bought all that new I would say $2000 to $2500. Are you currently running the water meth as well?

I've only used the water/meth a few times, haven't really tuned it in. When I punch it in 5th gear it makes the engine stutter a little bit. Kind of worried about the head gasket.

Exactly what I was getting to , a set of 12mm studs right now would be good insurance for the time being. I want to get mine to 500-550 on fuel only, I'm going to get a set of studs to be on the safe side. I'm sending you a PM about some injectors I know about are for sale!

Will a set of 12mm studs by themselves hold up, or is it nescessary to get the head oring'ed.

The studs will buy you a little more time but you need to get it o-ringed.

Sounds good, will probably have to invest in some studs as well then. Thanks for the help.

I would suggest while you have the head off to go ahead and get it resurfaced. O-ringed 300-400$, and #60 valve springs in...
This is going to save you a lot of time in the future.
