Moab Trip

My Trip to Moab UT.

At a rest stop near Grand Junction Colorado.

Gross Weight of 22,700 lbs. Did 45 mph up the mountain to the Eisenhower Tunnel out of Denver. I got 10.6 mpg on the 1300 mile trip from Fargo ND and have not figured the milage for the return trip. We limited our speed to 65 mph.

The best part is I was 3000 lbs heavier than the Duramax, he has a moderate tune on it, and I was able to keep up with him going up the hill.

In a Cabin at the KOA campground. Not the greatest place, locationwise, but the bathrooms were nice. They charge 5$ for every vehicle. 2 years ago we stayed at Slickrock and they had a place to park the towrig, but the cabins were not as nice. The location was better.

I'm jealous! We were there this time last year. We stayed in cabins at the Canyon Springs campground. Not bad, cabins were a bit small, had a separate lot for tow rigs and then we could "crowd" 3 rigs around our cabin. Nice thing was that its really central. You could walk down to the city market or down town. Nice an treed so there are some shady spots just in case you need to do some wrenching.
