I currently have a mitre cut stack about level with the cab. The bottom of the mitre is a little under the top of the cab(pics in gallery). I also have a 6 inch bull hauler. I was thinking about putting it in, and having it a few inches over the cab, and angled back. I know Josh's(teddybear)truck is much quieter than mine in the cab with his 7 inch bull hauler. His truck is an extended cab though, so I dont know what kind of difference that makes. Anyways, I was just curious if anyone had went from a mitre to a bul hauler, or vice-versa and what the difference in noise was. I also want to switch because the mitre gets soot absolutely everywhere. At least the bull hauler could only get it on the bed side at the most. Anyways. Any opinions are appreciated.

I had 5" dual turn outs on my ex cab, then went to straight cut 5" stacks and they are a good bit louder in the cab vs the turn outs.

can't help with the difference, but my 5" miters don't get any soot on my white truck. I think it is becasue of the way I built the box for them.

I say if you are going to like the look of the Bull Hauler do it! I know my stack gets grossly annoying sometimes, I am going to bump up to a 7" Mitre cut and put the top of it 6" or so above the cab so I can hopefully slow down the loss of hearing. And plus the way I am going to do it I might be able to cut the shoot showers down tremendously, I had the last straw when my new Grizzly got covered in soot after the truck sat overnight!

I think the bull hauler will look ok, but I am going to try it, and if I dont like it, I am putting the 6 inch tip back on out the rear. Heck I may do it anyways, but this mitre gets soot EVERYWHERE. It covers the winshield, my headliner gets black if I drive with the back glass open, and I cant sit on the tailgate because of the soot. Something has got to give

I think a bull hauler will work great for ya. With enough rain it will get water everywhere anyways but most of the time it was mostly on the bedside.

Maybe you should stop putting the garden hose in your miter.

i think i might also switch to a 6 or 7" single because the mess is a pain, and i am tired of everyone telling me that the smoke comes out the right side before the left

I seriously think a single stack is the way to go IMO the smoke has a lot more velocity when coming out because of the lesser amount of piping that is required of it to travel and also the fact that the inside area where the smoke would fill before coming out is cut in 1/2. I have a pretty neat idea IMO on how I can cut down on the soot showers because that really is the worst thing ever, I hate washing my truck because the next day when you start it soot gets everywhere from the condensation

I can only imagine how 2 stacks would be. My single mitre will almost cover the whole truck

yeah, if the bull hauler does get water in it, the worst it can do is partially get the bedside. That is no big deal, but when people dont wanna get in because of soot all over the door handle, that is a little much
