Mileage increase with Crazy Larry?
OK - I know the overhead mileage reading is way off, but...
I just installed CL 2.3.2 last night on my '06 (what a blast!). Anyway, I noticed the overhead started reporting much higher fuel mileage than the normal "Extreme" program. Running the Extreme setting using v2.3.3, I was seeing 16-17mpg. However, since running CL 2.3.2 (a version backwards), the overhead is reading 22-23 (same style driving - maybe a little more aggressive).
Again, I realize the overhead is way off, but I wonder if the v2.3.2 software displayed much more inaccurate mileage than the v2.3.3 software. Some people have noted their best mileage was using CL 2.3.2.
Since I have not filled up yet, I just wanted to verify my assumption...

I have learned never to trust the overhead computer when it comes to mileage. I run the BD PowerPup on Extreme (90hp) and my mileage per tank is around 15-17 with winter blend. I don't run my truck on the Crazy Larry setting because I like my transmission. Hope this helps a little.

i also saw my best mile ever in my truck when running Crazy Larry 2.3.2
trust me, i've owned lots of modules and some programmers. CL gets the nod for mileage!

I get the best milage on CL as well, not in the city (probably because im smoking out all the rednecks in their 6.9 Fords) but on the highway i defiantly saw it go up(hand calculated).

I know nothing about how the CL works, but if it is like the TST, it is injecting a lot more fuel that the ECM does not know about so that the ECM thinks the engine is putting out a lot more power with stock fuel usage when in fact it is using a lot more fuel. I can get my overhead to show 23 MPG with a GCVW of almost 19,000 because of how the TST works. In actuality, my MPG is around 16.5. Very good, but NOT 23!
Hope this helps.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Its my understanding that CL bumps timing which would explain better milage. I have hand calculated much better milage with CL, but I wonder how safe it is to run all day every day? Cause if its ok for the engine, I will set mine on CL and never turn it off.
