last year we had 15 i think in one big caravan. smoke everywhere. and i got sopped 4 times for it. and only got one ticket. and it wasn't even for the smoke. i will be there friday and saturday night. i'm staying at the grand victorian. corey they have a car show with several nice cars and a burn ot contest that i somehow miss every year from to much beer the night before and sleeping in. normal bed time is about 3 or 4 am. good times. during the scolding hot day you could take the fam to silver dollar city or white water. holler at me.

yes we are. i will be because of the level of inebriation that i will most likely be in. if the hay ride is allowed and i can talk the little bro into driving, there will be a keg on the trailer under the hay. if there will be partakers of the bubbly beverage i ask for donations to help pay for it. if it gets floated, we will sipmly get another.

sounds like there is going to be a lot of diesels there, i think it is supposed to cool off a little maybe only in the 80s if that is cooling off.
Gear Jammer
08-05-2008, 07:44 AM
80's will make it real nice for this event. I would love to see a good diesel turnout for this event. Although with the high price of fuel we should protest some how.

Gas here is $3.34-3.49, Fuel $4.39. Plain crap there shouldn't be a dollar difference.

There was a good amount of diesel trucks though.
Pack Mule
08-11-2008, 05:51 PM
that there was. apparantly somebody must have made an excessive amount of smoke last year cause they actually had a law against it this year. there was about 13 of us that was filling the sky and covering the ground last year. it was great.

I hate to say but they have really cracked down on the event. When I was in college, it was out of control.

i don't think i'm going to be goin back. you are 100% right, they are getting to be bi%@#(&. they have something similar to this close to me in oklahoma. i may hit it next year or the midnight drags in rogersville.
Gear Jammer
08-12-2008, 10:39 AM
Cops every 1/8 of a mile, alcohol sniffing dogs, etc. A few years ago a person could shut down the street by taco bell for burnouts. That was all I went for, I could care less about the actual cruise, I mean it's cool but the reckless abandonement is what I went for!
What is the midnight drag at Rogersville? I went to Midnight Madness in St. Louis a couple weeks ago now that was awesome!

Branson invites everybody down so they can get their yearly revenue off of them on cruise night. They started that about 4 years ago. I use to go every year but I don't place it near as high on my priority list anymore. They could at least mark off some spots on the strip and make legal spots for burnouts instead of boring everyone to tears. I never really went to watch the shade tree shiners cruise the road anyway. Alot of Springfield's faster street racing crowd use to go down and everyone had a good time. Wasn't unusual to see some local 9 second cars cruising around town.[laugh]

I couldn't have said it better myself. They told us last year that they raise the fine for burnouts by $150 or up to $150. The cops didn't think much of the 9 second cars cruising. They use to burnout in front of Walmart, talk about a show!
Ice Man
08-13-2008, 10:23 PM
the fine for a burnout was $500 big ones........
