Mickey Thompson MTZ's

Just got a set of LT315/70/17 MTZ's yesterday. I didn't realize how much bigger than stock the 315's are. Real aggressive tread pattern, which is what I wanted. I know that they might rub the control arm at full lock, but I will be addressing that situation in a week or two with a leveling kit. There's a few people on here that don't have a leveling kit and run 315's with minor or no rubbing at all. I want to put these on now, I just can't wait for the leveling kit. Will it be ok to put these on a couple of weeks before it's leveled? Anyone have problems rubbing the fenders with 315's? Any comment's or suggestion's are welcomed. Thank's

If you have the stock wheels you can probably get away with the 315's and no level kit. I know quite a few trucks that have done that.

For what its worth...If the tires end up fitting fine with no level kit then I wouldnt use the level kit at all.
I think sometimes the leveling kits cause more problems then they fix.

Earlier this year I bought a level kit and 315's BFG's and had a change of heart and ended up buying Mickey 33's and staying with stock level.

Glad I did by the way.

I thought the prices at National Tire and Wheel were pretty good and they are good to deal with. The compound is softer than a BFG but in winter they are siped and the softer compound is way better. At 95 on the highway in summer they might wear a little fast. ks

I have the ATZ's price is MUCH more reasonable than anything else I could find out there, and wear is good. I don't have the leveling kit, some minor rubbing at full lock, but no big deal.

Cool, thank's for the reply's. I'll be getting them put on tommorow. I paid $200 per tire, which was cheaper than the BFG's, Pro comp's, Toyo's, and the Nitto's in this size. These have the same load rating as the stock tires 3195 lbs. They do fell kinda soft though, but I'll see how they work out.

I have the Pro-Comp 33-12.5-17's and they ride allot better than the stocker Michelins. The tread pattern is great for the sand, but the load rating is only 2600lbs. Do you guys think that this will be a problem down the road??? I got the tires at $204 a piece and bought 3 and got 1 free!!!

Here's a little insider info. I do tire testing for Mickey Thompson who is owned by cooper tire. Pro comp is also owner by cooper tire. There public tires use a simular tire compound. When you get into the comp tires is where they varie. I have run almost every tire MT makes on the dodge and love them. Also have run the pro comps and liked them too. I am currently running the new dick cepek mud country and won't be giving these back, they are great. The baja atz was designed for the heaver diesels. They are rated a d but numbers wise are a low e. They are also priced right in there and if you find them to be to much your at the wrong store.

Well I got them put on today and wow! It makes a huge difference in the look of the truck. So far it doesn't appear to be rubbing anything, even at full lock. So I might consider not getting the leveling kit and save for a 4 inch lift instead.
